Pay Rate: $20.00/hour

Job Summary: 

Usher assists guests during events by helping them locate their seats, providing venue information, supporting crowd flow, and contributing to a safe, welcoming, and professional guest experience.

This is a part-time, event-based position. Event team members must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on the Golden 1 Center event calendar.

 

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Understand and follow Sacramento Kings and Golden 1 Center policies and procedures, particularly those related to crowd management, ticketing, and guest safety.
  • Greet guests and assist with wayfinding, seating, and general venue questions.
  • Ensure guests are seated in the correct locations and redirect guests without proper access to the appropriate area.
  • Monitor assigned areas and report or address guest concerns, disruptions, hazards, or potential safety issues as appropriate.
  • Keep aisles, walkways, and seating areas clear of guests, debris, and obstructions.
  • Assist guests with ticketing issues or seating concerns, escalating to a supervisor when needed.
  • Report broken seats, spills, hazards, or maintenance concerns to supervisors.
  • Respond to guest questions, concerns, and complaints in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Direct guests to restrooms, concessions, guest services, security, first aid, and other venue amenities.
  • Assist guests with accessibility needs, including those using wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility devices.
  • Distribute event materials, promotional items, or guest information as needed.
  • Support security and event staff with clearing the arena at the conclusion of events.
  • Interact with guests in a friendly, professional manner to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work a flexible event-based schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts as needed.
  • Ability to remain professional, calm, and guest-focused in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous customer service, hospitality, event, or related experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • Valid California Driver’s License preferred
