Reports To: Director, Retail Operations

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Rate: $17.50/hour
 

 

Position Summary

We are looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Associates to join our team! This position supports retail operations across Sacramento Kings team stores, games, concerts, and other events at Golden 1 Center.

Retail Associates are responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience, processing sales transactions, maintaining merchandise displays, receiving and stocking inventory, and supporting jersey customization. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail and event environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Team Store Operations

  • Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient service to guests.
  • Assist guests with merchandise questions, product selection, and purchase decisions.
  • Accurately process cash and credit card transactions using the point-of-sale system.
  • Receive, organize, restock, and maintain merchandise throughout the store.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail environment.
  • Assist with visual merchandising and ensure displays remain current, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Stay informed about Sacramento Kings merchandise, promotions, and upcoming events.
  • Support team sales goals and other retail initiatives.
  • Identify and report potential security, safety, or inventory concerns to retail leadership.

 

Game and Event Merchandise

  • Prepare merchandise stands before games, concerts, and other events.
  • Count inventory and arrange merchandise displays before doors open.
  • Deliver a positive and efficient guest experience in a fast-paced event environment.
  • Accurately process transactions using the point-of-sale system.
  • Complete post-event merchandise counts and prepare remaining inventory for return or storage.

 

Receiving and Distribution

  • Assist with unloading and receiving merchandise shipments.
  • Verify product quantities and prepare new merchandise for the sales floor.
  • Stock shelves, organize inventory, and replenish merchandise as needed.
  • Assist with the movement and distribution of merchandise throughout the facility.

 

Jersey Customization and Heat Press Operations

  • Operate the heat press machine safely and accurately.
  • Set up, clean, and perform routine daily maintenance on heat press equipment.
  • Customize jerseys and other merchandise based on guest requests.
  • Track and maintain inventory of customization materials and completed items.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years of retail or customer service experience preferred; sports or apparel retail experience is a plus.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to accurately handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Dependable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of or enthusiasm for the Sacramento Kings, the NBA, sports, and live events is a plus.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move throughout the shift for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to assist with unloading shipments, stocking merchandise, and setting up retail displays.

 

Required Availability and Work Schedule

This part-time position may include a combination of daytime retail, game, concert, and event shifts.

 

Daytime Retail Support

  • Must have flexibility to work shifts scheduled Monday through Sunday between 9:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
  • The specific schedule will vary based on business needs.

 

Games and Events

  • Hours will vary based on the game and event schedule.
  • For games beginning at 7:00 p.m., associates must generally be available to report by 4:45 p.m.
  • For games with other start times, associates must generally be available approximately two and a half hours before doors open.
  • Concert and event shifts will vary based on operational needs.
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
