Title: Event Manager – Arena 

Reports To: Director, Arena Production and Events 

FLSA Status: Full-Time, Exempt 

 

Position Summary:  The Event Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of events at Golden 1 Center. This role serves as a primary liaison between clients, promoters, internal departments, vendors, and other event stakeholders to ensure events are executed safely, efficiently, and at a high level of service. 

The Event Manager oversees event logistics from advance planning through load-out, ensuring contractual requirements, operational needs, financial considerations, and facility standards are effectively communicated and executed. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, promoter representatives, and internal department leaders to coordinate event logistics for arena events.  

  • Lead event advance planning and develop event-related materials, including facility setup documents, sold maps, event estimates, floor plans, dressing room layouts, and other operational documentation.  

  • Prepare, communicate, and manage event estimates and settlements, ensuring accuracy and appropriate supporting documentation.  

  • Review, interpret, and execute event contracts and related operational requirements.  

  • Partner with clients to fulfill contractual requirements while identifying solutions that maximize operational efficiency for both Golden 1 Center and the client.  

  • Serve as the on-site facility representative during pre-rigs, load-ins, events, and load-outs.  

  • Coordinate cross-functionally with internal departments, including BOH Operations, Box Office, Catering, Concessions, Finance, FOH Operations, Marketing, Merchandise, and Security, to ensure seamless event execution.  

  • Communicate and manage event-related deadlines and requirements, including contractual obligations, certificates of insurance, permits, pyrotechnic requirements, and other necessary documentation.  

  • Partner with the Box Office to develop and maintain event ticketing manifests and related event configurations.  

  • Coordinate I.A.T.S.E. stagehand labor calls based on event requirements.  

  • Coordinate the delivery, operation, and return of rental equipment and other items required to fulfill client or event needs.  

  • Create, monitor, and maintain event templates and event information within TMSS event management software.  

  • Support arena operations projects and initiatives as needed.  

  • Serve as the Arena Operations liaison for select Sacramento Kings games.  

  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.  

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration, Facility Management, Business Administration, Event Management, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.  

  • Minimum of two years of experience in event management, arena operations, facility management, or a related environment.  

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, promoters, vendors, team members, and senior leaders.  

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; experience with AutoCAD preferred.  

  • Experience with event management software, including TMSS or similar platforms, preferred.  

  • Exceptional customer service skills and a solutions-oriented approach to addressing challenges.  

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing circumstances while working effectively under tight deadlines in a fast-paced event environment.  

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, judgment, and resourcefulness in problem-solving.  

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team while also working independently and taking ownership of assigned events.  

  • Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.  

  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule based on the event calendar, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. 

 

Total compensation & offer package will include the following:   

  • Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000
