FRONTWAVE ARENA MANAGEMENT INC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety & Security Manager to oversee and implement comprehensive safety and security protocols across the facility. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a strong background in risk assessment, security operations, emergency response, and staff training, ensuring a safe, secure, and positive experience for all employees, guests, performers, and athletes at Frontwave Arena.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop & Implement Security Programs: Create and manage safety and security policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance with regulations and industry best practices.
- Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Conduct regular facility audits to identify potential hazards, develop mitigation plans, and ensure a safe environment for all.
- Emergency Preparedness & Response: Develop and manage emergency response plans, conduct drills, and ensure staff are trained to handle emergencies effectively.
- Security Systems Management: Oversee and maintain all security systems, including surveillance, access control, and fire safety systems.
- Incident Management & Reporting: Investigate security incidents, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
- Event Security Coordination: Collaborate with event managers to develop and execute comprehensive security plans for all events, ensuring proper staffing and security protocols.
- Liaison with External Agencies: Serve as the primary point of contact for local law enforcement, fire departments, and other emergency services.
- Traffic Management Support: Support the Traffic Control team with traffic management strategies during events.
- Policy Enforcement: Ensure compliance with all safety and security policies.
- Operations and Employee Support: Support employees on badge systems, and assist with incident reporting and adherence to safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in safety and security, preferably in a venue, event, or hospitality setting. Experience in conducting safety and security audits, risk assessments, and investigations is highly desirable.
- Education: Associate's Degree (AA) or Bachelor's Degree in hospitality, business or related field from college or university or equivalent experience on a year for year basis for the degree is preferred
- Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of safety and security regulations, standards, and best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address potential risks and vulnerabilities
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive change within the organization
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate safety and security information to diverse audiences
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Ability to respond to emergency situations calmly and effectively
- Working knowledge of MS Office programs including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience with an automated event booking system is preferred.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as required by event. Ability to work extended periods of time both walking and/or standing. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Certifications: (Highly Desired)
- Cal/OSHA Safety Certifications (e.g., Cal/OSHA 30-hour, Safety Trained Supervisor (STS)
- Traffic Management Certifications
- California Security Guard Card or other higher-level security certification
- Beneficial:
- Relevant certifications in safety, security, or emergency management (e.g., Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Emergency Manager (CEM)).

- Security Program Development & Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain safety and security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry best practices.

- Staff Training & Development: Collaborate with department managers to develop and deliver comprehensive safety and security training programs for employees, covering topics such as emergency response, de-escalation techniques, and security protocols.
- Incident Investigation & Reporting: Investigate and report on safety and security incidents, including accidents, theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, and code of conduct violations. Recommend and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Event Security Coordination: Coordinate with event managers to ensure effective security plans for all events, from load-in through load-out, including overseeing event security personnel, coordinating security expectations and protocols, and ensuring proper logistical placement.
- Liaison & Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison with all outside public safety regulatory agencies and officials or agents, including local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical services.
- Traffic Management Support: Support the Traffic Control team with traffic management strategies during events.
- Policy Enforcement: Work to ensure compliance by all staff to the new policies and guidelines.
- Customer Service: Addresses all customer service issues that arise before, during and after an event.
- Operations Support: Addresses all operations support and new hire tasks such as employee badge system and lost access cards.
- Technology Proficiency: Up to date with computer technology and willing to learn new programs.
- Employee Safety: Ensure staff are working safely, notifying Directors of any accidents/incidents. Investigates and fills out forms and reports if applicable.
- Customer Service: Address all customer service issues that arise before, during and after an event.
