Job Title: Repair and Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Frontwave Arena, Oceanside, CA
Reports To: Assistant General Manager
Job Summary:
Frontwave Arena seeks a formidable Repair and Maintenance Supervisor to lead the daily operations and direct maintenance and repair crews. This role demands a hands-on leader committed to keeping the facility safe, operational, and prepared for the toughest events. The Supervisor will command coordination with internal teams, external contractors, and vendors, ensuring seamless facility performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the supervision, operation, and maintenance of environmental controls, emergency power, electrical systems, HVAC, lighting, and critical building infrastructure.
- Take charge of planning and executing preventative maintenance, following manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Command repairs, rebuilds, and replacements of electric motors, engines, compressors, and pumps with precision and authority.
- Oversee auxiliary systems, including generators and backup power sources, ensuring they’re ready for action at all times.
- Enforce energy management and safety protocols rigorously, maintaining the highest standards for all machinery and systems.
- Direct the conversion of the arena for diverse events, ensuring technological and structural readiness in close cooperation with technical teams.
- Maintain detailed logs, complete work orders swiftly, and produce comprehensive reports without fail.
- Collaborate with outside contractors and vendors, orchestrating utility shutdowns, startups, and repairs during events and conversions.
- Ensure total compliance with Cal/OSHA, OSHA, NFPA, and all relevant regulations.
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scrubbing machines confidently and safely.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; vocational training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related fields preferred.
- Five (5) years full-time experience in facility maintenance or a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and building systems — know how to get things done under pressure.
- Familiar with industry terminology, procedures, and technical specifications for event setups.
- Relentless focus on safety, strict adherence to building codes, and emergency protocols.
- Superior organizational skills, able to prioritize and make decisions quickly under stress.
- Possession of essential licenses and certifications required for operating facility equipment.
- Skilled at reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documents, translating plans into action.
- Clear communicator, capable of rallying teams, working with vendors, and coordinating with stakeholders.
- Adaptable and decisive — operate independently or lead a team with confidence.
Physical Requirements:
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including extensive walking and movement throughout the facility.
- Stand long hours during events; kneel, crawl, reach, and climb to high walkways with ease.
- Lift and move 50-80 pounds as needed.
- Work in tough environments with loud noises, extreme weather, fumes, and chemicals.
- Able to work in confined spaces and at heights using proper PPE.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Universal Refrigerant License, NFPA 70E Low/High Voltage, High-Rise Fire Safety Director, State Fire Pump Test, and related credentials.
Computer Skills:
- Basic proficiency with Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and standard office tech.
Hours of Work and Travel Requirements:
- Willing to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, whenever necessary.
