Frontwave Arena is a state-of-the-art, 7,500-seat indoor venue located in Oceanside, California. It is home to the San Diego Clippers of the NBA G League and the 16-time champion San Diego Sockers of the Major Arena Soccer League. In addition to hosting world-class concerts, sporting events, and community programming, Frontwave Arena also oversees the business operations for both the San Diego Clippers and San Diego Sockers, offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment for professionals passionate about sports and live entertainment.
Position Summary: Frontwave Arena is seeking a talented and versatile Graphic Designer with a strong background in both static and motion design to join our dynamic marketing team. This role will directly support the visual branding and marketing efforts for the San Diego Sockers (Major Arena Soccer League), the San Diego Clippers (NBA G League), Frontwave Arena, as well as a wide variety of events and venue initiatives. As the Graphic Designer, you will bring bold ideas to life through compelling visuals, engaging animations, and cohesive brand storytelling across digital, print, and broadcast platforms
Key Responsibilities: ● Design engaging visual content including flyers, posters, web banners, social graphics, merchandise mockups, and more for use across digital, print, and out-of-home platforms.
● Create motion graphics and animations for use in-game (LED boards, Jumbotrons, hype videos), in digital advertising, and on social media.
● Collaborate with social media teams for real-time content creation on game days and during key marketing campaigns.
● Support brand development and evolve visual identity systems for the San Diego Sockers, San Diego Clippers, and Frontwave Arena.
● Manage and maintain digital asset libraries including templates, logos, photography, and video content to ensure consistent access and branding.
● Design signage and environmental graphics for events, sponsor activations, wayfinding, and fan experience areas inside the arena.
● Provide creative input on marketing campaigns, ticket promotions, and digital strategy with an emphasis on visual storytelling.
● Work directly with corporate partnerships teams to create sponsor-branded content, in-venue signage, and custom activations.
● Assist in pre-production planning for creative projects, including mood boards, storyboarding, and layout drafts.
● Support internal team requests, such as presentation decks, press releases, media guides, and partner proposals.
● Contribute to content planning and creative brainstorming sessions to ensure a fresh, engaging visual voice across all platforms.
● Ensure all design work aligns with brand guidelines, tone of voice, and legal/licensing requirements (e.g., league or sponsor restrictions).
● Assist with photo and video shoots for player media days, arena marketing, merchandise, and sponsor content as needed.
Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Motion Design, Visual Communications, or related field.
● 2–4 years of professional design experience (experience in sports, entertainment, or live events preferred).
● Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.
● Strong portfolio demonstrating both static and motion graphic capabilities.
● Experience creating content optimized for social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, etc.).
● Understanding of sports branding, arena/event production, and fan engagement strategies.
● Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
● Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for games and special events. Preferred Skills:
● Experience working with sports teams, leagues, or live events.
● Knowledge of LED board and arena display formatting.
● Photography and/or video editing capabilities.
● Familiarity with 3D design software (Cinema 4D, Blender) a plus.
