Frontwave Arena is a state-of-the-art, 7,500-seat indoor venue located in Oceanside, California. It is home to the San Diego Clippers of the NBA G League and the 16-time champion San Diego Sockers of the Major Arena Soccer League. In addition to hosting world-class concerts, sporting events, and community programming, Frontwave Arena also oversees the business operations for both the San Diego Clippers and San Diego Sockers, offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment for professionals passionate about sports and live entertainment.
Position Summary: Frontwave Arena is looking for a Digital Marketing Manager to lead the development and execution of targeted email and digital advertising campaigns across our diverse event calendar—including the San Diego Sockers, San Diego Clippers, and other Frontwave Arena events. This role will own our outbound digital communications strategy, working closely with internal teams to grow ticket sales, engage fans, and support sponsor visibility. Additional responsibilities include maintaining web content and tracking campaign performance.
Key Responsibilities:
● Email Marketing: Plan, build, and deploy email campaigns across events, announcements, offers, and fan communications.
● Use HubSpot to manage contact lists, segment audiences, and build automated workflows and nurture sequences.
● Write compelling subject lines and copy that drives opens, clicks, and conversions.
● Conduct A/B tests to optimize email performance across creative, subject lines, send times, and calls to action.
● Contribute to lead generation efforts by building and managing forms for newsletter signups, contests, presales, and other opt-in campaigns.
● Collaborate with events and partnerships teams to fulfill sponsor messaging and promotional obligations.
● Maintain calendar of campaigns, ensuring emails are timed to align with event sales cycles and audience behavior. Digital Advertising ● Develop and manage paid media campaigns on Google Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), LinkedIn Ads, YouTube, and other platforms. ● Define targeting strategies by audience segment, location, interest, behavior, and retargeting pools.
● Work with creative team to brief and source ad assets that meet platform specs and brand guidelines. ● Set up tracking pixels, UTMs, and conversion events to ensure full-funnel visibility.
● Regularly monitor campaign performance, optimize spend and creative, and prepare reports on ROI and KPIs.
● Support revenue-driving campaigns for partnerships, sponsors, and group sales initiatives. Website Management
● Update and maintain event listings, promotional content, and homepage banners across FrontwaveArena.com, SanDiegoSockers.com, and affiliated sites.
● Build landing pages for specific events, pre-sales, and promotions, ensuring responsive design and SEO best practices.
● Ensure accuracy of ticketing links, show info, and supporting media assets.
● Collaborate with events and ticketing teams to ensure the website is ready ahead of all announcements and on-sales. Analytics & Reporting
● Track performance across email, ads, and website traffic using tools like Google Analytics, HubSpot, Meta Insights, and ad platforms.
● Deliver campaign reports and insights to marketing leadership and collaborating teams.
● Identify performance trends, recommend optimizations, and help define KPIs for future campaigns.
● Build dashboards and benchmarks to evaluate year-over-year growth and event category performance. Cross-Functional Collaboration
● Work closely with Sales, Events, and Partnerships teams to align marketing tactics with business priorities. ● Participate in event planning meetings to define timelines, campaign needs, and sponsor assets.
● Communicate deadlines, creative requirements, and campaign performance clearly across departments.
Qualifications
● 3–5 years of experience in digital marketing, ideally in live events, sports, or entertainment.
● Strong hands-on experience with HubSpot, Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Ads, and email marketing tools.
● Proficiency with CMS platforms (ex. WordPress) and basic front-end updates.
● Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
● Deep understanding of campaign optimization, audience segmentation, and digital conversion funnels.
● Comfortable managing multiple campaigns at once with a high attention to detail. Bonus Skills
● Experience with ticketing platforms like AXS or Ticketmaster.
● Basic graphic design (Canva, Photoshop) or video asset handling.
● Working knowledge of SEO, CRM segmentation, or fan loyalty strategies
