JOB SUMMARY:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing the incoming and outgoing shipment of goods and materials. They will report to the Dock Master and perform all duties required to ensure that all shipments and deliveries are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates closely with the Dock Master to ensure the accurate tracking of all incoming and outgoing deliveries for Smith Entertainment Group.
- Receives and inspects all incoming shipments.
- Inspect shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages.
- Verify accuracy of shipment contents against purchase orders and invoices.
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading and shipping labels etc.
- Coordinates with Delta Center Building Security team and carriers to schedule pick-up and delivery of shipments.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Sorting and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail and goods.
- Communicate with suppliers, customers, and internal departments regarding shipping and receiving issues.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Capable of operating and driving a box truck and/or company vehicles.
- Deliver/transport goods and equipment to various facilities approved by Smith Entertainment Group management team.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving area.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess a valid Utah driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) screening in accordance with company policy and insurance requirements.
- Must be able to pass a drug test.
- Must pass a background check.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in shipping and receiving.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and regulations.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory management software.
- Must be able to work in a collaborative manner.
- Ability to stay calm in highly stressful situations.
- Ability to make good decisions quickly.
- Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
- This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate, and assess.
- This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
- This person must be able to lift 75 lbs.
