GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for delivering effective HR leadership and support across CSC’s operations. This role serves as a strategic partner and primary point of contact for HR-related matters, fostering a positive and compliant workplace culture. The HR Manager acts as the face of the Human Resources function, building trust and credibility across all levels of the organization while ensuring alignment with CSC’s mission, values, and business objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties below reflect the minimum requirements for this position.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for HR-related inquiries, providing guidance and support to employees and leadership on policies, procedures, and HR best practices.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and grievances, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies and legal compliance.
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including support for recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding processes.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including managing unemployment claims and supporting legal proceedings as necessary.
- Develop, implement, and communicate HR policies and procedures, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Administer and communicate employee benefits programs, acting as a liaison between employees and benefit providers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and systems (HRIS), ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Support a positive employee relations environment and foster a culture aligned with CSC's values.
- Provide HR support at assigned venue events, actively engaging with staff and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of HR-related training programs for managers and employees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and HR experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 1 year in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Working knowledge of applicable California and Federal employment, labor, and compliance laws and requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in managing employee relations, conducting investigations, and resolving conflicts.
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate needs, be proactive, and apply sound judgment in decision-making.
- High level of customer service orientation and strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to rapidly changing priorities.
- Knowledge of investigative techniques and processes for dealing with complaints, accusations, and grievances.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
As a nationwide organization with involvement in many of the world's premier events, the CSC Los Angeles Human Resources Manager may be asked to travel to other branch locations and provide management assistance for such events. Some common annual events include the Super Bowl, World Cup Soccer Events, Olympic Sporting Events, Coachella Valley Music Festival, Stagecoach Country Music Festival, Electronic Daisy Carnival (EDC), NFL Playoffs, and various conventions. All travel is paid for by CSC.
