GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
Event Managers are responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of events by providing leadership and support to Event Staff Supervisors, as well as the Event Staff. Working under the direction of the Director of Operations and Branch Manager, they ensure all event operations are carried out in alignment with company, client, and venue policies. Event Managers also guide staff in responding appropriately to field situations, ensuring a safe, efficient, and professional event environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties below reflect the minimum requirements for this position.
· Maintain a valid and current security guard license or its equivalent as required in the jurisdiction where the employee works.
· Teach and enforce operating standards.
· Serve as a principal source of information on rules and procedures governing security and other event management operations.
· Communicate with and “brief” event staff.
· Manage supervisors/staff responsible for event coordination activities.
· Coordinate details of events such as sporting events, concerts, conferences, trade shows, and other various events.
· Define company brand through events.
· Maintain adequate communication with both the Director of Operations and Branch Manager.
· Ensure staff is adequately prepared for event.
· Coordinate with client, and Director of Operations to ensure the best way to carry out an event.
· Prepare all paperwork, uniforms, and equipment needed for the event, ensuring tasks assigned are completed as planned.
· Be present during the event and handle issues and problems as they arise before, during, and after the event.
· Ensure that all timelines and deadlines are met and produce satisfying results for the client.
· Ensure that the event complies with local and national safety regulations.
· Travel to various job sites to provide supervision and field representation.
· Recruit, interview, test, and select employees to fill vacant positions.
· Manage and administer orientation and training programs for welcoming and integrating new employees.
· Review, understand, and assist in implementing local licensing requirements as needed.
· Assist in ensuring the proper employee documentation is completed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
· Interact professionally with employees, clients, and partners to represent the company’s standards.
· Foster a workplace environment consistent with the company’s values and vision.
· Report all unsafe practices or hazards to management.
· Assist with maintaining organized and compliant branch office files as needed.
· Perform other related duties as assigned by senior branch management, corporate officers, or regional managers.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises employees in the field and at client events. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Two years of related work experience, two years of general experience in security, law enforcement or military police and a high school level education; or two years related work experience and an Associate’s degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
LANGUAGE ABILITY:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATH ABILITY:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER & EQUIPMENT SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Explorer; Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft PowerPoint; and Microsoft Share point. Must become proficient on company Protatech Scheduling Program and local software as needed.
