Job Summary

The role of Specialist, Flyers Communications for the Philadelphia Flyers will work within the Hockey team as part of the Comcast Spectacor Communications Department. The role will be highly active in the creation of all team news, which includes writing, research and reporting. In addition, the role will oversee and guide staff members on all aspects of Game Operations. The individual will be based full time at The Flyers Training Center in Voorhees, NJ and will be required to work at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA for games and as needed for meetings & events. The role will report to the Manager, Player & Hockey Communications.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead in tracking, creation of media reports and storylines for Flyers on and off ice team news and events for Communications, Hockey and Executive Staff.
  • Assist the Manager, Player & Hockey Communications, and in assigned cases, take lead on creation of press releases, talking points and other written documents.
  • Assist the Manager, Team Publicity, and in assigned cases, take lead with writing media reports and tracking appearances with Hockey & Business requests, interviews and events involving players, coaches and management.
  • Leads and oversees staff responsible for the day-to-day duties of game operations.
  • Research and compile player and team statistics, as well as provide thorough fact checking and editing for all department projects.
  • Develop, maintain and manage Flyers online resources for media.
  • Develop and maintain a team calendar & weekly update for communications on the hockey schedule to be shared with communications and business operations.
  • Serves as the lead on special projects and events as assigned.
  • Assigns and guides Flyers Communications Graduate Assistants and Interns
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Salary:

Primary Location Pay Range: $74,711.84 - $112,067.76

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.

Education

Bachelor's Degree

While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
