POSITION: Early Childhood Instructor
REPORTS TO: Facility Manager
EMPLOYEE TYPE: Part Time/ Non-Exempt
SUMMARY
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public facilities, has an immediate opening for a Early Childhood Instructor at the ComEd Recreation Center focusing on Tot Spot. Under direct supervision, the Early Childhood Instructor develops class curriculums and provides instruction to participants ages 1 – 5 years old along with parent participation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Instructs scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate and effective lessons
- Ability to prepare detailed lesson plans and activities for a class period
- Lead the instruction of Tot Spot participants, according to the lesson plan, in a fun environment while teaching specific developmental techniques
- Maintain a positive, safe and nurturing environment
- Ensures that safety standards are met, and department and facility policies are adhered to
- Provide positive and professional communication with parents and guests
- Ensure the safety of all participants during classes, and report any problems, unsafe conditions, behavior issues and accidents to management
- Maintain class log and attendance
- Complete other duties as assigned

The employee must have the endurance to complete the instruction of the assigned fitness program.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of one year teaching experience preferred
- Specific Interest in early child development
- Experience working with students ages 1 – 5
- Minimum age of 18.
- Early childhood experience preferred
- Ability to maintain a positive and safe environment for all students
- Be able to communicate with parents
- Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
HOURS:
- Tuesday & Thursdays from 09:30AM - 12:00PM
- Year round with exception of Summer
HOURLY RATE: $19.00
