THE ROLE
The Vice President, Sales & Hospitality serves as the senior on-site revenue and hospitality leader for Legends Global at the University of Maryland. This role is responsible for driving ticketing and premium revenue across all Maryland Athletics properties while leading the strategic vision, sales execution, and experience for the Maryland Club. The Maryland Club being an exclusive private club within Xfinity Center offering space for lunch, work, private events, curated experiences and an exclusive gameday experience.
Reporting to the Vice President, Global Sales at Legends Global and working closely with the Vice President of Hospitality, and the Chief Revenue Officer for Maryland Athletics as the primary client, this executive will align Legends’ global best practices with Maryland’s institutional priorities to deliver sustained revenue growth, exceptional client service, and best-in-class fan and member experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Revenue & Sales Leadership
- Lead the strategy and execution for ticket sales (season, groups, & single game) and premium revenue across all Maryland Athletics programs, including football, men’s and women’s basketball, and Olympic sports.
- Oversee sales of season tickets, priority seating, premium club seating, suites, and other high-value inventory.
- Establish annual revenue goals, forecasts, and sales plans in partnership with Legends and Maryland Athletics leadership.
- Drive new business development while maximizing renewals, upgrades, and long-term client value.
Maryland Club Strategy & Hospitality Leadership
- Set the vision and lead the event sales, faculty sales strategy, and retention campaigns for the Maryland Club.
- Partner closely with and oversee hospitality operations to ensure elite food, beverage, service, and event experiences for members and guests on gamedays and throughout the year.
- Develop innovative engagement, programming, and benefits that differentiate the Maryland Club within the DMV and collegiate athletics marketplace.
- With support from the Food & Beverage manager, oversee budget and financial performance for The Maryland Club. Ensuring adherence to revenue and expense targets.
- Review and analyze financial statements, operating costs, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to maximize profitability.
- Collaborate with the Club Manager, Vice President of Operations and Finance department to prepare forecasts, budgets, and capital expenditure plans.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a senior point of contact for Maryland Athletics leadership, including the CRO and executive team
- Build trusted relationships with donors, corporate partners, premium clients, and key university stakeholders
- Ensure consistent, high-touch service delivery aligned with Maryland Athletics’ brand, culture, and donor engagement objectives
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales, marketing, and client service organization
- Establish performance metrics, incentive structures, and coaching frameworks that drive results
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Operations
- Partner with internal Legends units to develop, grow, and execute integrated revenue strategies.
- Ensure effective use of CRM and ticketing platforms to track performance, manage pipelines, and maintain data integrity.
- Provide regular reporting and strategic insights to Legends Global leadership and Maryland Athletics.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required
- 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in ticket sales, premium seating, hospitality, or revenue generation within sports, entertainment, or live events
- Demonstrated success leading large sales teams and delivering sustained revenue growth
- Executive-level experience managing client relationships and aligning with institutional stakeholders
- Strong business acumen with experience forecasting, budgeting, and managing revenue performance
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
Preferred
- Experience in collegiate athletics or complex university partnerships
- Familiarity with ticketing platforms (e.g., Paciolan), CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and premium membership models
- Background in premium hospitality venues, clubs, or membership-based experiences
COMPENSATION
Competitive salary range of $190,000 - $195,000 + incentive opportunities, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
