ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

The Tucson Convention Center, including the Tucson Arena, Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, and Leo Rich Theater, has an opening for a talented and creative Marketing Coordinator. The Marketing Coordinator performs short- and long-term marketing, advertising, and creative planning and execution in alignment with approved plans. Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Create marketing plans for events and/or initiatives when required, to include all available services: group sales, public relations, media placement, direct mail, promotional development, live entertainment, non-profit opportunities, etc.
  • Plan, organize, and implement advertising, promotions, publicity, and social media programs.
  • Ensure proper adherence to brand standards to maintain positive and professional representation of the organization and its facilities.
  • Perform graphic design functions, as needed, or liaise with outsourced design partners as determined by Director of Sales and Marketing.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with advertisers, event organizers, employees, and the public.
  • Remain current on national trends in the industry and local market changes to best serve the facilities.
  • Serve as the social media voice of the Tucson Convention Center’s channels. This includes updating social media before, during, and after events and concerts. Ensure the Tucson Convention Center and its facilities stay current with industry and social media trends and interacts with fans while promoting events through multiple platforms.
  • Update and distribute event calendars and online event listings.
  • Conceptualize and execute online promotions for concerts and events to increase ticket sales.
  • Maintain the facility website.
  • Ability to work irregular hours as dictated by event/initiative programming, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Marketing, Public Relations, or Sales in entertainment industry or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience of the above

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Extensive knowledge of marketing software and systems.
  • Extensive knowledge in social media marketing and platforms.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational ability.
  • Must be very detail oriented.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and to interact with all levels of staff, including management.
  • Ability to work irregular hours that will vary due to events and will include day, evening, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
  • Must have professional attitude and appearance.
  • Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information is required.
