THE ROLE

The Human Resources Intern will support the Human Resources team across a broad range of people operations and employee experience initiatives within a fast-paced hospitality and attractions environment. This internship is designed to provide hands-on exposure to core Human Resources functions while supporting both operational and strategic HR initiatives.

The role offers developmental exposure to multiple HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, employee relations, training and development, HR operations, compliance, employee engagement, and HR technology. The internship also provides experience supporting both union and non-union workforce environments within a high-volume hospitality operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Human Resources Intern will support initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, operational consistency, and compliance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Talent Acquisition & Staffing

  • Assist with recruitment coordination, interview scheduling, candidate communication, and onboarding activities
  • Support applicant tracking and recruitment workflows through HR systems and recruiting platforms
  • Assist with maintaining recruitment documentation and candidate records
  • Participate in hiring events, recruitment initiatives, and workforce planning activities

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and culture-building activities
  • Assist with employee communications and engagement-related programming
  • Help support a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented work environment
  • Training & Development
  • Coordinate training logistics, attendance tracking, and training documentation
  • Support onboarding and learning initiatives for new and existing team members
  • Assist with maintaining training compliance records and development materials

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain confidential employee records and HR documentation with professionalism and discretion
  • Assist with audits, reporting, filing, and administrative HR processes
  • Support compliance with company policies, labor regulations, and workplace standards
  • Assist with leave administration processes, policy acknowledgment tracking, and record management

HR Systems & Administrative Support

  • Support HR data management and reporting functions
  • Assist with HRIS-related processes and employee record maintenance
  • Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources department
  • Participate in special projects and additional assignments, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this role successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology (including Industrial-Organizational Psychology), Sociology, Organizational Development, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Exposure to HRIS platforms or recruiting systems preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within the Human Resources field
  • Ability to adapt within a fast-paced hospitality and entertainment environment
  • Foundational understanding of Human Resources principles and practices preferred

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE     

Candidates must currently be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology (including Industrial-Organizational Psychology), Sociology, Organizational Development, or a related field from an accredited institution. Preference may be given to candidates entering their junior or senior year of undergraduate study, or those currently enrolled in a graduate-level program. Candidates must maintain good academic standing throughout the duration of the internship

The ideal candidate is an emerging Human Resources professional who demonstrates professionalism, discretion, intellectual curiosity, and a strong interest in employee experience and organizational culture within a fast-paced hospitality environment. Competitive candidates will possess strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to adapt, take initiative, and collaborate effectively across teams. This opportunity is best suited for candidates seeking meaningful, hands-on Human Resources experience and who are motivated to grow into future HR and business leaders.

COMPENSATION

$18/hour
