The Role:

Responsible for overseeing bar operations during events, including banquets, concessions, and catering bars. This role ensures efficient service, and inventory control, and a high level of guest satisfaction. The Bar Manager supervises bar staff, coordinates event beverage service, and maintains compliance with company policies, safety standards, and responsible alcohol service regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily bar operations for banquets, concessions, and catering events.
  • Ensure all bar locations are properly set up, stocked, and staffed prior to events.
  • Take part in monthly and quarterly inventories of all liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnish, equipment and service ware etc.
  • Provide directions and support to bar staff during service events.
  • Monitor beverage service to ensure efficiency, quality, and guest satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with Food & Beverage leadership and event staff to support event timelines and service needs.
  • Verify proper pricing of all beverage menu items in POS systems.
  • Monitor and track beverage inventory and complete physical inventory count as required.
  • Identify and communicate changes in needs and sales flow during peak service periods.
  • Assign bar staff duties and ensure appropriate staffing levels for events.
  • Ensure compliance with all food and beverage policies, alcohol service regulations, and company procedures.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and sanitary work areas in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Enforce responsible alcohol service and monitor guest consumption.
  • Organize and maintain required event paperwork related to bar operations.
  • Assist with planning for anticipated beverage sales and peak service periods.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience          

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in food and beverage operations, preferably in bars, concessions, catering, or event venues.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience in a hospitality or event environment preferred.
  •  Experience in convention centers, stadiums, arenas, or large event venues is a plus.

Skills and Abilities  

  • Strong customer service focus and ability to work collaboratively with event staff.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of beverage service operations and inventory control.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems preferred.
  • Basic math skills with the ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

  • This position requires stooping and lifting. Substantial standing, walking, pushing and or pulling of equipment.
  • Daily lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. up to 10 minutes at a time.
  • Constant reaching, standing, walking, and stooping.
  • Performing work through repetitive eye/hand coordination
  • Position requires walking and standing regularly.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
