JOB SUMMARY:
As Manager, Loading Dock Operations, you play a crucial role in the daily building operations of the arena through overseeing the use of the Barclays Center subterranean loading dock with the highest attention to detail.
The Barclays Center loading dock is one of the most complex operational environments in the venue. It is the entry point for every show, team, truck, and delivery—operating under extreme time pressure and in tight quarters. The Manager, Loading Dock Operations owns this space. This role is responsible for running a safe, orderly, and efficient dock while balancing the competing needs of tenants, promoters, vendors, and internal departments. It requires sharp coordination, clear communication, and the ability to lead a team in a high-pressure, event-driven setting. The Manager, Loading Dock Operations is responsible for the critical logistics that power Barclays Center’s 200+ events annually. From concerts to NBA/WNBA games, this role ensures that every truck, delivery, and vendor interaction is executed with precision and professionalism. The Manager oversees all dock traffic, mailroom functions, equipment, and support staff, serving as the central point of coordination between departments, tenants, and third-party vendors. The ideal candidate must be organized, have proven experience in managing a busy loading dock operation in a multi-use facility. A demonstrated ability to use technology such as QTrak, Open Dock, Microsoft Word, and Excel is required in creating and maintaining a schedule of deliveries. You will plan and implement associated work tasks as well as supervise the full and part-time staff to ensure proper completion.

· Eventful Overnights, Weekends and Holidays:
The role demands your presence during Barclays Center Events, load-ins and load-outs. Given the dynamic nature of this schedule, weekends and holidays become integral to the job. There are 200+ different events that come through the loading dock and this specific area is the first entry point for every event. The loading dock is an extremely stressful and high energy area where every aspect must be fully executed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: What You Will Do
· Manage and coordinate the day-to-day activities of all deliveries and mailroom services for the arena
· Manage the Loading Dock Team during day-to day operations during event and non-event hours
· Manage, supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in loading and unloading of trucks and in moving and storing materials or products
· Develop, maintain and strictly enforce a daily schedule of deliveries to efficient operation
· Coordinate the arrival and departure of all show related trucks as well as the organization of player parking when required
· Serve as main point of contact for 3rd party vendors such as waste services, off-site storage, and equipment service/rentals by enforcing the agreed upon scope of services within the various signed service agreements.
· Directly supervise, evaluate, and train FT Mailroom Coordinator
· Hire, train, and instruct the Loading Dock Team on the proper procedures for effectively and efficiently operating a 24-hour operation
· Plan, schedule, and execute preventative and repair maintenance work when required on the loading dock equipment including (6) forklifts, (2) scissor lifts, snow removal equipment, dock levelers, roll doors, truck elevators and turntable
· Responsible for teaching, training and certifying new Employees on the safe and proper techniques of forklift and scissor lift operation
· Responsible for maintaining active/current forklift and scissor lift certifications for all Employees
· Preparing and maintaining required reports/records/certifications for the city, code and/or corporate management.
· Provide a clean, safe environment for all personnel and tenants
· Develop standard operating procedures for the Arena Operations department.
· Supports and assists the department with budgeting and staffing plans; recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating departmental personnel and service providers.
· Preparing projected Event Cost Estimate/Analysis for specific areas of responsibility.
· Monitor cost accounting expenses for overall budget including but not limited to house equipment rental, supplies and services purchased, event supervision, and staff.
· Continuously review departmental needs and recommend repairs, maintenance or projects.
· Creating and implementing purchasing and inventory control systems as it relates to consumable items, tools and equipment within the Loading Dock and Mailroom.
· Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with VP, Directors, Managers, Supervisors, employees, patrons, clients, service providers and corporate sponsors.
CANDIDATE PROFILE: Who You Are
· Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Sport Management, Business, or Logistics/Supply Chain Management plus 2 years of progressively responsible positions and/or post baccalaureate experience in the job offered.
· Specific experience as it relates to an 18,000+ seat sports and entertainment multi-use facility; organizing and supervising operations for sporting and entertainment arena events.
· Must have a continuous drive and passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests, employees, tenants and teams.
· Knowledge and previous experience working with NBA, NHL/AHL, NCAA (hockey and basketball), FELD Entertainment, AEG Live, Live Nation and other concert and family show promoters preferred.
· Experience in developing and managing budgets.
· Must be detail oriented, flexible, and able to always work with enthusiasm and professionalism, through a variety of circumstances, using good judgment.
· Must have a flexible schedule, with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary. The ability to demonstrate dependability and reliability by being punctual, working assigned and varying shifts and completing responsibilities in a timely manner are required.
· Must be able to pass a criminal background check, employment check and a drug test prior to employment.
· Valid State Driver’s License
· Fork and Aerial Lift Certification
