Extreme Ice Center is a two-sheet ice rink located just southeast of Charlotte, North Carolina that provides year-round programs, leagues, classes and events for hockey, figure skating and recreational skating. We are seeking a candidate to add to our Facility Operations Team who will support the growing demands of the business.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain ice resurfacing equipment
- Ice Maintenance – edging, Olympia operations, flooding, dry cut
- General maintenance of ice resurfacing machines including blade changes and daily/monthly maintenance of all mechanical equipment
- Keep maintenance logs on specified equipment
- Maintain refrigeration plant
- Perform all aspects of building maintenance
- Manage compliance needs related to fire, safety and other regulatory entities
- Maintain arena to include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors, vacuuming, washing windows, replacing light bulbs, emptying trash
- Stock and refill all bathroom supplies
- Operate fork lift and aerial lift
- Serve as rink Manager On Duty as needed
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Experience
- 3-5 years of ice rink operations experience.
- Working knowledge of ice making and ice maintenance
- Standard tools, methods, practices, and materials of ice maintenance, to include edging, dry cutting, flooding low spots, filling holes and divots, and fixing hockey lines as needed
- Working knowledge of building maintenance and building systems
- Willingness to learn and teach new skills
- Established attention to detail
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills
- Preferred but not required: CIT certification
- Experience with the application of quality principals in a plant, warehouse or other complex operating environments
- Flexible work schedule, may need to work night and weekend hours
- Balancing, bending, climbing, kneeling, walking, pushing, reaching above shoulders, and sitting
- Frequently lift and or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- May need to work in aerial lifts at height up to 50 feet
