About Longwood Hockey

Longwood Hockey is a growing South Florida hockey organization that is home to the Florida Surf, Florida Wave, and Palm Beach Breakers Youth Hockey Organizations. Longwood Hockey also works in conjunction with the Palm Beach North Athletic Facilities (PBNAF) in the development of a new state-of-the-art, two-sheet ice hockey facility in Palm Beach Gardens.

Our hockey alumni include 39 NHL players, 7 first-round NHL Draft picks, and more than 100 NCAA Division I players. Building on that tradition, our mission is to elevate the hockey landscape in South Florida by creating more opportunities for athletes of all ages and skill levels from elite players pursuing the highest levels of competition to families and individuals discovering hockey for the first time.

Position Overview

Longwood Hockey is seeking a creative, energetic, and sports-minded Marketing & Social Media Intern to help build the brand, promote our programs, and tell the story of our growing hockey community.

This is a hands-on sports marketing internship designed for an individual interested in social media, digital marketing, content creation, communications, photography, videography, or event marketing.

The intern will work closely with the marketing and operations teams and will have the opportunity to capture and create content surrounding youth hockey, practices, games, tournaments, camps, clinics, special events, athletes, coaches, and the development of the new Palm Ice Arena.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create engaging social media content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other digital platforms.
  • Capture high-quality photos and video of practices, games, tournaments, camps, clinics, events, and rink activities.
  • Develop and assist with short-form video content, including Reels, TikToks, interviews, highlights, and behind-the-scenes features.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining weekly and monthly social media content calendars.
  • Write compelling captions, promotional copy, announcements, and other marketing materials.
  • Interview players, coaches, parents, instructors, alumni, staff, and special guests.
  • Promote hockey leagues, camps, clinics, tournaments, Learn-to-Skate programs, special events, and community initiatives.
  • Help tell the story of the Longwood Hockey organizations and their athletes through compelling digital content.
  • Develop content highlighting the construction, development, and future of the new Palm Ice Arena.
  • Assist with promotional campaigns, community outreach, sponsorship activations, and special marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor social media trends and identify creative opportunities to increase engagement and brand awareness.
  • Track basic social media performance metrics and assist in evaluating content performance.
  • Maintain a consistent and professional brand voice across social media and marketing channels.
  • Assist with additional marketing, communications, and content projects as assigned.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a creative self-starter who loves sports, enjoys creating content, and wants real-world experience in the sports business industry.

Candidates should be:

  • Passionate about hockey, sports, or the sports entertainment industry.
