Supervises: Operations Supervisors, Operations Staff, Ice Technicians, Housekeeping Support Staff, Part-Time Event Operations Personnel, Contractors, and Temporary Labor


Position Summary

The Operations Crew Lead assists in the day-to-day operation, maintenance, event readiness, and physical appearance of the Mountain America Center. This position assists in ice operations, event conversions, operational staffing, and safety compliance. The Operations Crew Lead supports the goal of world-class guest experiences, successful event execution, and a safe environment for employees, guests, tenants, performers, and partners.

This position serves as a key member of the venue support team and embodies the Mountain America Center culture of Get It Done, Power In Unity, and Best of the Best.


Areas of Responsibilities

Facility Operations

  • Oversee daily operational readiness of the arena, conference center, loading dock, back-of-house areas, grounds, and parking facilities. 
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to ensure cleanliness, functionality, safety, and presentation standards. 
Ice Operations

  • Oversee all ice operations including installation, maintenance, removal, and quality control. 
  • Train and supervise staff on proper ice-making and resurfacing procedures. 
  • Maintain and service Zamboni and ice maintenance equipment. 
  • Ensure ice quality meets standards for professional hockey, youth sports, public skating, and special events. 
Event Operations & Conversions

  • Lead and execute all event setups, conversions, executions, and breakdowns in the Mountain America Center. 
  • Coordinate arena conversions between hockey, concerts, family shows, sporting events, conventions, banquets, and community events. 
  • Manage load-ins and load-outs for touring productions, vendors, exhibitors, and tenants. 
  • Work closely with Event Coordinators, Production, Security, Guest Services, Food & Beverage, and Box Office teams to ensure seamless event execution. 
  • Participate in event settlements and post-event evaluations. 
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) during events as assigned. 
Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, fire codes, building regulations, and venue safety standards. 
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS) and required compliance documentation. 
  • Participate in emergency response planning and incident management.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum two (2) years of facility operations experience in an arena, stadium, convention center, entertainment venue, sports facility, or similar environment. 
  • Minimum one (1) years of supervisory or management experience. 
  • Experience leading facility conversions and event operations. 
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as event schedules require. 
  • Valid driver's license. 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. 
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in elevated locations. 
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. 
  • Ability to operate facility maintenance and event equipment safely.
