Play For A Stray is Dual Purpose Nonprofit, promoting youth sports through our various sports businesses ( Skyhawks Sports Contra Costa, SuperTots Contra Costa, Pack Football Club, Pack Sports, Sideline Fitness, Pack Performance), and using our profits to promote youth sports but also increase the quality of life for dogs without a home, rescuing them and letting them live their best life on our Play For A Stray Dog Ranch.

Join our team and choose where your passion lies coaching athletes from as young as 2 through 14, from multisport programs, single sport programs, and strength and conditioning programs. From beginner to advanced sports camps/ leagues/tournaments/programs, we offer every aspect to the youth sports experience, while allowing our staff to know their impact goes beyond youth lives but also helps save dogs!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Play For A Stray Directors are the head individual in charge of running a variety of successful sports programs in the Play For A Stray Family (Skyhawks Contra Costa, Super Tots Contra Costa, Pack Sports, Pack Football Club, Sideline Fitness, Pack Performance and more coming soon!) typically leading a team of coaches to help youth athletes do all of the following below

Focus on developing Skills, Passion, and Confidence. Not winning and losing
Providing a safe environment where kids of any ability can develop at their own pace
Using modified equipment and specialized curriculum to teach young athletes skill development through play
Manage interactive team games that encourage friendly competition and teach sportsmanship and teamwork in a positive environment
Create a structured environment with lots of encouragement and a big focus on fun

LOCATIONS:

Programs run throughout Antioch, Benecia, Brentwood, Concord, Danville, Lafayette, Martinez, Moraga, Oakley, Orinda, Piedmont, Pleasant Hill, Hayward, Walnut Creek

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Prefer a College Degree (BS or BA)
Must be able to pass a national background check, TB Test, Covid Vaccination and receive First Aid/CPR Certification.
Must have regular access to a computer.
Must have driver’s license and reliable transportation (own car).
Most importantly, applicants must be able to relate well to kids (ages 3-14), share their knowledge and passion for sports, and bring a high-energy “can do” attitude to camp EVERYDAY!
Must be able to work well independently and with others.
Must have leadership qualities.
Must be flexible.
Must have prior experience with coaching youth sports.

COACHING SCHEDULE:

Flexible scheduling is available on weekdays and weekends, no minimum amount of hours needed to join the team. We work with you to build a schedule that works with you and your life.
Also included are administrative hours offered to directors that can be completed at home on the computer or in person during whatever day or time works best for you!
Part-time hours are preferred with full-time hours being offered during Summer.

PROGRAM PAY:

This is a paid coaching position. Hourly rate depends on experience and education level. Starting pay ranges from $25-$30/hour.
