YinzCam builds the official mobile apps of 200+ professional sports teams across 5 continents, including those of NFL/NBA/MLS/NHL/LaLiga/AFL clubs. Our mobile apps have tens of millions of users, consuming terabytes of content on a regular basis.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial-minded data-storyteller as our Director of Business Intelligence. The role will involve analyzing data across our entire family of mobile apps to provide best practices to our clients to prospect/engage/retain their season-ticket members and sponsors.  

This is a unique role that crosses engineering and data, and the person in this role will have the opportunity to lead the development of a brand-new customer data platform for YinzCam's mobile apps. 

What you will be doing...
  • Data storytelling by mining and analyzing structured and unstructured data using SQL queries
  • Recommending data-driven actions around UI/UX, sponsorship, ticketing in our mobile apps
  • Using predictive modeling to assist sports teams with lead generation through mobile
  • Analyzing data to develop cohort analysis and customer-segmentation models  
  • Finding, and creating, new business opportunities through data 
  • Working closely with the CEO to build out a business-intelligence team at YinzCam 

You will need to have ...
  • 5+ years of experience working in a BI manager/director role within a professional sports team
  • 5+ years of extensive skills and hands-on experience in SQL and relational databases
  • 5+ years of experience with ticketing systems/analytics, particularly Archtics and CRM data
  • 5+ years of experience with data-intensive distributed systems, such as Redshift, Hadoop, Hive, etc. 
  • 2+ years of experience with machine-learning and statistical algorithms
  • Phenomenal communication and presentation skills, when it comes to presenting data

  • Direct experience with sponsorship, ticketing, membership within a professional sports team
  • Hands-on experience with data-storytelling using different types of data visualization and infographics
  • A track-record of improving business ROI for a professional sports team through the use of data
