Reading United is in the market for some creative, ambitious, and motivated interns for Fall 2019! We are the USL League Two affiliate of Philadelphia Union, and our efforts are routinely showcased by the Union on their social media. We are a hands-on organization, where you will get experience writing, creating, and helping us prepare for our 2020 season.

We will be considering interns that are outside the greater Reading, PA area for a telecommuting experience.

I. Principle Areas of Responsibility

Research for and writing press releases/other projects
Assist in developing social media content (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat)
Assist in creating graphics for social media usage
Assist in game day set-up and tear down
Assist in creation of new ideas for our communication efforts
Assist with community and player events as needed
Compile statistics for future use

II. Learning Objectives
Learn how to create content for readingunitedac.com and team social media platforms
Written content
Develop an understanding of how to cover live events (games, events, trainings)
Track and analyze website and social media statistics
Understanding of setting up a home event, how home events/trainings are covered by the media, and how to disseminate information

III. Specific Knowledge, Skill, and Ability
This internship is ideally suited for someone with a strong awareness of social trends, ability to creatively use Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, strong written and organizational skills. Knowledge of Google Docs and Canva is not required, but preferred. While a strong interest in soccer and sports isn’t required, it’s most definitely a plus!
