As we look forward to the return of the 2020 season, it is also that time to begin our Strength and Conditioning Internship Opportunity looking into the 2021 season. This program allows us to assess candidates in real time and determine if they have the chops to officially join our technical staff team for the 2021 season.
The Strength and Conditioning Intern will ensure that the physical performance of Hartford Athletic players is maximized through safe and effective training methods that prepare them for top performance on the field. The ideal candidate will have some coaching skills and experience, who can demonstrate the ability to be extremely adaptable to find solutions to daily performance problems. The Strength and Conditioning Intern will report to the Head Coach.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Work with Head Coach in planning and preparing physical training activities
Oversee the daily administration and management of the strength and conditioning program and improve the performance abilities of players through safe and proper strength and conditioning routines
Manage multiple same day training schedules and make daily decisions on suitable programming needs of players that maximizes continued physical development
Collaborate with Sports Medicine Staff using daily meetings to optimize player preparation and apply modifications as required
Assist Sports Medicine staff with monitoring injuries, treatment and additional duties as assigned
Supervise and instruct players in the weight room and during additional strength and conditioning work
Deliver small group and/or individual warm-up exercises as required
Goal set appropriately and work with Team Staff to find solutions to help players meet their performance goals
Assist with off-season and pre-season strength-and-conditioning planning and monitoring
Assist with team practices and additional team-related activities as necessary
Participate in Club community events and Club community appearances
GPS Data Analysis
Additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Chairman
Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays on an as-needed basis as well as for all match days during internship
College credit available if applicable
Lunch will be provided on double session training days
