Summary: Announced as an expansion club to join the professional ranks of USL League One, USL Spokane will provide the Eastern Washington region with a professional soccer team to call its own, kicking off in 2023. The club followed its initial announcement with its intent to launch an elite pre-professional women’s soccer team as part of the USL W League’s inaugural season in 2022. The club will call the new, 5,000-seat Downtown Spokane Stadium home upon its completion prior to the 2023 season. The first-class facility will serve as a hub for the soccer and greater sporting community in the Greater-Spokane region.

Position Purpose: The Director of Digital Content will lead all content development and fan/community engagement activities across the club, including but not limited to the club’s website, social media, e-mail communication.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Design and implement the communications and content, and engagement strategy for the organization.
Responsible for creating compelling digital content including but not limited to blogging, website updates, social media posts (image and video), email news letters and contests.
Manage and implement all website updates and content creation.
Establish and maintain a dynamic content calendar.
Track and provide monthly reports all digital engagement and media impression s using various tools.
Create and maintain a library of assets for digital use in coordination with the club’s Marketing and Communication departments.
Work across the organization to support the operation of each department and its initiatives and goals.
Create graphic assets to assist club-specific initiatives.
Identify and recommend new platforms or social profiles as trends and technology evolve
Assist with training players, front office and coaches towards use of social media in accordance with industry standards, and USL Spokane and USL policies.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Game Day Responsibilities:

Lead all match day online engagement including but not limited to: live social posts from event, updates on player status, scores, trivia, sponsor activation, contests, pre/post game reports on website.
Supervise game day photographers, provide shot lists and ensure images are uploaded to USL.

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in a digital marketing, online content creation, blogging, social media, inbound marketing, ecommerce and/or digital design or related experience.
In depth knowledge of American soccer, European Football and/or World Cup including but not limited to key players, leagues, clubs and industry developments.
Excellent writing skills including SEO copywriting and blogging.
Expert understanding and use of social media including but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, video and image sharing sites.
Must be able to build and maintain relationships with online communities.
Must have in-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Google Analytics; experience with WordPress (or similar open source CRM), Mail Chimp (or similar email communications platform); Adobe Suite and social media project software (e.g. Hootsuite).
Photography and video editing experience a plus but not required.
Experience building, analyzing and converting databases a plus but not required.
Actively participate in club meetings and training.
Strong analytical skills.

Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for organizational business.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with employees, executives, internal and external partners.
Ability to work independently in a multi-faceted, fast, fluid, and deadline-driven environment.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic a must.
Ability to work as business needs require which may include long days, evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel if / when necessary.
Must have U.S. work authorization.
