Highmark Stadium is a 5000-seat, soccer primary multi-use stadium in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. The stadium hosts sporting events, conferences, concerts, and a multitude of other events throughout the year. The venue houses multiple fixed concession stands as well as portable food and beverage stands throughout the complex, which will include a new tailgate area adjacent to the stadium multiple meeting spaces and operates an on-site pub during games and sporting events.
The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for the effective management, operation, both full time and part time staff, including event planning, food preparation and production, food cost control, profitability, compliance with food/beverage safety and sanitation policies, cleaning, kitchen safety, and employee training and staffing. This candidate must provide a high level of oversight, culinary proficiency and operational/personal supporter to ensure the smooth running of all food outlets and events.
Oversee concessions, picnic tables, suites, hospitality, catering, and non-game day events.
Provide food and beverage budget reports, event financial reports, monthly inventory counts, and nightly game day sales reports.
Mange all Food and Beverage related orders, inventory, and vendor contract, including but not limited to food, beverage, paper products, specialty items, etc..
Directly interview, hire, train, schedule, and manage all food and beverage related staff to include seasonal, part-time, charity groups, intern, and game day staff.
Responsible for coordinating and supervising the work of concessions staff with a positive attitude to create a healthy work environment for all staff members.
Displays knowledge of culinary preparation skills and teaches other proper preparation and food presentation.
Oversee the production and timely delivering of food orders.
Conducts regular inspections to assure cleanliness and maintenance to meet company standards.
Must be a visible presence working on the concourse with staff to ensure quality, efficiency, and overall management of operations.
Achieve and exceed financial, guest service, and associate metrics goals.
Program, maintain, and train staff on Heartland P.O.S.
Additional duties as assigned by Director of Operations.
Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook, Heartland P.O.S. experience preferred.
Working knowledge of employee scheduling in a hospitality environment.
Professional appearance and presentation required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to interact with all levels of staff including management.
Ability to work event nights, weekends and holidays as required.
Must be able to move around the facility, both indoors and outdoors.
Daily lifting and carrying of up to 25 lbs.
Minimum for 1 to 2 years food and beverage, venue-based experience, preferably in a live events facility.
Must have experience meeting deadlines, working multiple projects, and achieving objectives.
Working knowledge of the hospitality industry.
Demonstrated and verifiable track record of meeting projected costs.
