Position Overview:
The Matchday Operations Intern will work alongside the Coordinator, Community Relations & Matchday Presentation, to assist in the management and execution of all El Paso Locomotive FC home games. This paid internship is a full-time internship that offers hands-on experience in matchday operations, event coordination, community relations, and game presentation.

Key Responsibilities/Requirements include but are not limited to:
  • Assist with all behind-the-scenes production logistics.
  • Support matchday setup, including DJ and pre-match performances, credential boards, and country flags.
  • Deliver necessary products to the visiting team’s hotel.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for in-game talent, including national anthem singers, Color Guard, and pre-match performers.
  • Confirm performer participation and coordinate sound checks as needed.
  •  Assist with compiling and distributing the Equipment Needs Sheet for match day staff.
  •   Help clear locker rooms following matches and after visiting the team's meals.
  •  Assist in the creation of parking passes and nameplates for team and technical staff.
  •  Support the execution of on-field recognitions and fan experiences.
  •  Provide pregame and halftime liaison briefings and manage liaison scheduling for all home games.

This position reports directly to the Coordinator, Community Relations & Matchday Presentation.

Education and Experience: 
  • Recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Sports Management, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
  •  Ability to multitask and perform in a fast-paced, dynamic matchday environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe Creative Suite, and PowerPoint.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus but not required.
  • Availability to work all El Paso Locomotive FC home games, weekends, and nights is required.
  • Must be able to work long hours, including standing for extended periods and working in varying weather conditions.
This internship begins in January 2026 and extends through the end of the Locomotive season. We offer a $750 monthly stipend for living expenses, along with $10 per hour for scheduled matchday & grassroots marketing work.
