ABOUT TKFC LC | St. Louis CITY SC
Major League Soccer's (MLS) first majority female-owned and female-lead organization will play its inaugural MLS season in 2023. The 100 percent St. Louis-based owners are committed to becoming an exceptional club and neighbor and a symbol for the future of our city and region.
St. Louis CITY SC will play in a brand new, state-of-the-art soccer stadium to be built on approximately 35 acres in downtown St. Louis, Missouri. The seating capacity of the open-air stadium will be 22,500. Included with the build of the stadium will be the team Administrative Offices and Training Facility immediately adjacent to the stadium in Downtown West St. Louis.
Responsibilities:
The Director, District Technology will be a dynamic part of creating a unique, client-centric vision for technology and fan experience in St. Louis CITY SC's stadium district. This role will require a responsive, collaborative, and forward-thinking vision of the interaction between fans and technology. Our Director, District Technology, will oversee and support the design, implementation, and management of technology systems that support the goals of our club and create memorable experiences for fans and visitors.
- Align department goals with the vision and strategic plan of ownership as it relates to the interaction between the fan experience and the technology that supports it
- Will be responsible for managing 4-5 external vendor partners, including financials
- Will be responsible for managing 3-5 direct reports
- Support the design of a technological environment that promotes the safety of fan information
- Create a long-term plan for upgrading critical systems to avoid creating technical debt and security risks over time
- Implement, oversee, and provide technical support, partners, and services to district users inside and outside match day. Including but not limited to the following:
- Wireless internet and physical infrastructure of the stadium/district
- Broadcast operations and technology
- Retail POS system (hardware and software)
- Food and Beverage POS system (hardware and software)
- Venue/Stadium Operations system support
- Establish best practices and streamline procedures to ensure staff and fans can interact with technology seamlessly throughout the entire district
- Identify technological risk mitigation strategies, take early action to resolve issues, and address impact
- Recruit, lead and mentor a District Technology Support Specialists team
- Stays current with technological developments inside and outside of sports while bringing best-in-class ideas and concepts to our team and fans
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
- 5+ years of information technology experience
- 3+ years leading and overseeing a technology group
- Must reside in St Louis or be willing to relocate to St Louis MO
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail
- Exceptional customer relationship management skills
- Ability to coordinate and lead multiple tasks and projects while managing time effectively
- Significant experience with creative thinking and problem-solving and a solutions-oriented attitude
- High interpersonal skills in handling sensitive, confidential situations and information
- Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills when working with clients and internal groups to achieve organizational goals
- Strong analytical skills and ability to measure the impact of all decisions to build strategic business plans
- Ability to work with a cross-functional team to meet deadlines and achieve successful outcomes
- Strong ability to analyze data and make advised recommendations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced media technology environment with a specific emphasis on game-changing consumer experiences
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs
Preferred:
- Previous experience with contract/vendor management
- Previous experience with budget and fiduciary responsibility
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, cybersecurity, or technology management
