The Academy Director for the RSL Academy is responsible for overseeing the development and operations of the developmental teams within the Real Salt Lake ecosystem.

The Academy Director plays a vital role in providing strategic leadership and direction to ensure the academy's success in developing talented young players. You will work closely with coaches, staff, parents, and stakeholders to create an environment that fosters player development, maximizes performance, and aligns with the Club's philosophy and objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Supervises all technical aspects of the academy program with the goal of developing professional players at the highest levels and with high potential sale value.
Establishes and executes short- and long-term vision of the developmental teams in collaboration with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Technical Director.
Measures and reports on the performance of the Academy and Real Monarchs each year against planned goals, objectives, and strategies ensuring the Real Monarchs and Academy deliver well-rounded footballers to the first team.
Attends, observes, and assists, when necessary, at all RSL MLS Next and MLS Next Pro matches.
Recruits, evaluates, and manages the Real Monarchs, U17, U15, and goalkeeping coaches on a day-to-day basis including but not limited to:
Directs and coordinates coaching assignments.
Creates match plans.
Conducts coaching education and coaching development programs for all coaching staff.
Coordinates with all coaching staff across the organization to create Individualized Development Plans (IDPs) for development players.
Serves as liaison between the Club, coaches, dormitory, education personnel, and parents to mitigate issues as they arise.
Attends, observes, and assists, when necessary, at all RSL MLS Next and MLS Next Pro matches.
Participates in scouting activities and produces reports as required.
Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous professional experience in soccer youth development.
Must currently hold USSF A License (or equivalent from approved federation) or Director of Coaching license with knowledge of grassroots pathway.
Ability to pass a background check and become Safesport certified.
Ability to analyze and evaluate player performance using video analysis tools and statistical data.
Outstanding knowledge of the sport and a detailed understanding of current and developing tactics, coaching methods, analytics, and training methods.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally.
Excellent facilitation skills, including the ability to manage and resolve tensions, disputes and conflicts.
Experience in business management/financial management/budget planning.
Effective communication skills with an emphasis on clearly communicating the mission and vision of Club culture with players, families, coaches and community members.
The candidate should possess a professional demeanor and communication skills to effectively work with both internal and external constituents.
The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate the needs of the teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Possess a strong understanding of MLSNext and MLSNextPro rules.

The job requires regularly lifting/pushing up to 5 pounds and occasionally lifting/pushing more than 10 pounds or exerting heavy force, in a wide disparity or environmental conditions. The job involves standing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, typing, etc.
