JOB TITLE:  Manager, Resource Development & Events

POSITION OVERVIEW:
NYCFC is looking to hire a Manager, Resource Development & Events who will build and execute thoughtful and impactful development strategies for the organization and oversee key fundraising, marketing, and community events for CITC. This individual will provide planning, oversight, coordination, and implementation of community events that further CITC’s strategic objectives and maintain a prospect portfolio to optimize fundraising opportunities in line with goals outlined in CITC’s 2021 – 2026 Strategic Framework. The role will encompass research and development of partnership building opportunities as well as, relationship management strategies for interaction with local community members, organizations, and partners.  The ideal candidate will have experience in the non-profit space including fundraising and diversifying revenue generating opportunities, event management, short and long-term strategic planning, project development, and must excel at relationship building. This dynamic role will play an integral part in creating, managing, and developing strong relationships within NYC that support NYCFC, CITC, and the communities they serve. WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Develop and execute City in the Community’s annual fundraising plan to ensure a large sustained base of annual individual  and corporate donors
  • Oversee the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and management of a portfolio of foundation prospects and partners
  • Track proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising and prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports on Community and CITC foundation fundraising activities
  • Oversee organization of all CITC community events, working cross departmentally to ensure effective collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders (Marketing, Partnerships, Communications, HR etc.)  
  • Author external communications materials to drive awareness of NYCFC and CITC’s community work and forge new partnerships
  • Build networks with identified partners and donors, share learnings with the team and determine opportunities to strategically engage, manage and retain relationships/partnerships
  • Maintain appropriate communication with community partners and internal business partners to ensure smooth execution of programs and initiatives
  • Organize community meetings and maintain a system for updating stakeholders on progress
  • Maintain and manage communication with prospects, arrange meetings, host site visits, and invite prospects to matches, community events etc. 
  • Develop and maintain current list of community partners
  • Provide recommendations for improvements related to department policies and procedures
  • Manage the implementation of Approve For Good and oversee staff responsible for data entry and gift processing

WHAT YOU BRING:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in non-profits, community and government relations, project management ideally related to youth, public service, or community relations
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed revenue, fundraising and grant goals and track record of successfully soliciting donations and support from corporations and foundations
  • Ability to be creative and innovative in researching prospects and cultivating relationships with prospective donors 
  • Strong networking skills with a track record of building mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively interact with individuals, both internal and external, from diverse backgrounds
  • Passionate about community initiatives and working within NYC and throughout NY
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while consistently meeting deadlines is essential and attention to detail
  • Experience using donor database programs such as Handbid and Approve For Good 
  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Applicant must be able to comply with MLS Next Safety and Well-Being policy and any other applicable child safety policies provided to applicants by NYCFC
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; must be a skilled internet researcher
