JOB TITLE: Grassroots Program Lead
DEPARTMENT: Youth Programs
REPORTS TO: Director of Youth Programs
LOCATION: Orangeburg, NY
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Grassroots Program Lead is responsible for supporting the planning and operational delivery of NYCFC Camps, Clinics, Club Coaching Partnerships, thereby growing NYCFC Youth Program’s presence within commercial window (75 mile radius of Yankee Stadium). Additionally, the role will supervise and mentor NYCFC Youth Programs Part Time regional staff, assisting with the creation of seasonal plans and the development of age-appropriate curriculum. This individual will provide support to the Director of Youth Programs and assist the department in achieving financial benchmarks, productivity, and efficiency within all grassroots programs.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Leads the development of grassroots programs in the form of NYCFC Camps, Clinics & Club Coaching Partnerships within commercial window and grow Youth Programs book of business.
- Assists Director of Youth Programs with financial oversight of all grassroots programming and is responsible for programs remaining on target and within forecasted P&L
- Ensures all grassroots programs operate efficiency and effectively with the appropriate resources assigned to each (Apparel and coaching equipment)
- Leads all client communication of grassroots programs
- Leads the screening of new venues and potential Club Coaching Partnerships
- Main point of contact for all grassroots programs business
- Works with Coaching Lead in organizing all grassroots sessional plans and curriculum within online platform (Sports Session Planner)
- Collaborates with Coaching Lead in making sure all grassroots programs are sufficiently staffed
- Collaborates with Coaching Lead in scheduling new coach recruitment days
- Serve as a representative of NYCFC at youth soccer board meetings & events when needed
- On field coaching as needed
- Other duties as assigned.
WHO YOU ARE:
- A soccer enthusiast with a thorough knowledge of local grassroots youth soccer
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to identify problems, their sources, and their potential solutions while continuing to successfully conduct day-to-day operations without interruption
- Strong sense of self-awareness and emotional intelligence
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 1-2 years youth soccer administrative experience
- Experience with Sports Session Planner
- Experience working in the sports and entertainment industry preferred
- Experience with all Microsoft Suite applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- A minimum of a USSF C License or foreign equivalent
- Thorough knowledge of local grassroots youth soccer
- Extensive coaching experience within youth soccer programs
- Strong presentation and deck development skills
- Flexibility to work late hours, early mornings and/or weekends as needed
- Strong ability to manage one’s own time, prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectives and be self-directed and able to work independently
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicant must be able to comply with MLS Next Safety and Well-Being policy and any other applicable child safety policies provided to applicants by NYCFC
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary
