The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is the top professional women's soccer league in the USA, with 12 teams and 300+ of the best soccer players globally. In just its 10th season, the league continues to grow exponentially: In 2022, the NWSL shattered all-time fan attendance records, more than two dozen markets expressed demand for expansion teams, valuations of teams multiplied by double digits, several new C-suite executives were hired, and the league continues to receive unprecedented interest from sponsors and media partners alike. 

The NWSL Marketing organization activates the programs that power the NWSL brand to grow its fan base and amplify business impact. The Manager, Digital Marketing, reporting to the CMO, will play a crucial role in the League's success to scale and strengthen fan engagement and revenue. The successful candidate must have a bias for action as this entrepreneurial role is about building the foundation of the new Marketing department.

With fans of NWSL teams growing at an unprecedented rate this role is a unique opportunity for a data-driven Digital Marketing Manager to bring their skills to the NWSL Marketing team and shape the future of sports and purpose.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop, manage and execute digital marketing campaigns across search, display, social and email to deliver established business goals.
  • Setup, execute and optimize automated and triggered email campaigns targeting key audiences with personalized messaging and offers; continuously testing to improve delivery, open rates and click through.
  • Develop loyalty and CRM programs and strategies to optimize customer value and profitability (e.g., team ticket sales, sales of NWSL products and services, sponsorship dollars).
  • Produce weekly reporting, and ad hoc analyses, on campaign results and website trends with actionable insights around wins and learnings.
  • Manage and optimize all aspects of search, display and social advertising campaigns; continuously testing targeting, content and messaging to optimize performance results.
  • Build innovative new digital campaigns that further amplify and/or support Team, Player and Partner marketing efforts.
  • Regularly bring innovative new digital marketing methods, channels and ideas to your programs.
  • Ensure the fan remains the center of every strategy, every program, and every touchpoint while business objectives are met.
  • Liaison with teams and league constituents to coordinate campaigns and create best practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred, or further business/analytical education.
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated hands on experience managing digital marketing acquisition campaigns across search, social, display and email; preferably with media, entertainment, eCommerce campaigns or a culture/momentum brand.
  • Fluent in the metrics that matter around Marketing programs and how what you do contributes to business objectives; Must have demonstrable experience measuring and optimizing all digital campaigns.
  • Experience with marketing automation and web analytic tools.
  • Must have an insatiable curiosity about all aspects of digital marketing, with have hands-on examples of bringing new programs and capabilities to life-and the associated wins and learnings.
  • Experience in keeping customers/fans/players at the center of every strategy and program.
  • Extremely facile with Microsoft PPT and Excel spreadsheets-you love testing /learning/iterating and telling data-driven stories.
