Facility Operations/Event Staff: Security
The Kansas City Current is seeking a Director of Security.  The Director of Security reports directly to the VP, Stadium Facility Development and is responsible for organization-wide safety and security programs. Performs a variety of management functions in planning and implementing security programs, managing, and protecting assets and equipment, and providing direct supervision over Security staff to maintain a safe environment for guests, staff, and visitors.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Oversee the daily safety and security operations for the KC Current Stadium Security department including major event days and 24/7 operations.
• Lead the full-time and part-time Security Team including recruitment, selection and hiring, culture building, professional development, performance review, and functional safety training.
• Develop and implement security procedures and training in compliance with stadium policies and applicable state and federal laws.
• Conduct security awareness programs for the stadium staff including new team member orientation and continuing education for security staff.
• Develop relationships and collaborate with representatives of local government, law enforcement, firefighting, and EMS agencies to ensure cooperation and coordination of stadium activities.
• Plan and implement protocols and controls for activities such as: visitor and staff building entry, traffic control, physical property patrol, escort service for VIPs, etc.
• Monitor the investigation of accidents and criminal acts. Review and evaluate reports prepared by security staff regarding investigations. Conduct follow-up investigation as needed.
• Collaborate on the development and implementation of the guest experience strategy, with focus on the role and responsibility of the security staff in the process. Ensure that operational excellence is balanced with security protocols and compliance.
• Develop and communicate vision for organization-wide safety and security. Prepare a 3–5-year strategic plan based upon formal safety and security assessments and industry technology/ standards.
• Develop, identify, and recommend new procedures and approaches to safety and loss prevention based on incident/ accident reports and other relevant information.
• Detect and intervene whenever conditions exist that pose an immediate threat to life or health, equipment, or the facility.
• Analyze and detect traffic and parking problems and make recommendations for new or revised programs, policies, and procedures.
• Assist department managers/directors and administrators in enforcing safety regulations and codes.
• Measure and evaluate effectiveness of safety program, using established goals.
• Conduct building and grounds hazard surveillance surveys on a periodic and regular basis to detect code violations, hazard, and incorrect work practices and procedures.
• Conduct regular security risk assessments.
• Maintain administrative control of records related to safety and security programs.
• Create and maintain Security department budgets and manage them within the greater budget for the organization.
• Perform other related tasks or projects as assigned.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred with background in business administration, safety education or related discipline.
• Seven years’ experience in law enforcement or security field including two years supervisory experience or a combination of education and experience as a leader of security and safety in a large venue setting.
• Ability to work flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.

Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at desk and working on a computer.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking long distances.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and meet physical demands of the job.
