POSITION OVERVIEW
Chicago Stars FC is seeking a full-time Team Scout based ideally in Chicago to support the club’s first team player recruitment strategy. This role involves identifying and evaluating talent through live match scouting, video analysis, and data-driven insights. The successful candidate will play a key role in building a robust pipeline of domestic talent, with a strong focus on the U.S. soccer landscape. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required is essential.

· Demonstrate leadership in accordance with Chicago Stars FC mission, vision and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of the domestic and international women’s soccer ecosystem.
- Identify and assess potential player prospects through live match observation, video analysis, and data evaluation.
- Produce comprehensive written and video scouting reports to support recruitment decisions.
- Maintain and update the club’s scouting database in collaboration with the Scouting Department.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and recruitment opportunities.
- Develop a thorough understanding of players across key domestic markets, with a focus on U.S.-based talent.
- Exhibit extensive knowledge of the U.S. youth soccer system, including GA, ECNL, and NCAA pathways.
- Collaborate closely with club leadership, Chief Scout, and executives to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Support planning and logistics for domestic and collegiate tournaments.
- Assist with video and data-driven projects under the direction of the General Manager and Assistant GM.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in women’s soccer scouting and talent identification.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in modern scouting tools and video analysis platforms (e.g., Wyscout, SICS).
- Advanced understanding of performance data and analytics (preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of the U.S. women’s soccer landscape, including youth and collegiate systems, with emphasis on Illinois and surrounding regions.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines.
- Energetic and proactive approach to scouting and player evaluation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Performance Analysis, Scouting, or a related field, required.
- Coaching certification preferred.
- Prior scouting/working experience within the U.S. women’s soccer environment preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to be mobile and travel.
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
- Must be able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours.
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk.
LOCATION/SCHEDULE
- Work hours are generally 9:00 am- 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday. Hybrid work schedule.
- Must have ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have reliable Transportation to SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, IL, Central office located in Downtown Chicago, and Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
- Must have abilitly to travel with Club domestically and internationally.
