Event Management: Event Operations/Management
Chicago Red Star’s Operations Interns will work within the Operations Department and will assist in the planning and execution of all Chicago Red Stars home games and non-game day events and activities.
 
Responsibilities:
·      Assist with planning and execution of the Red Stars game day activities:
o   Participate in cross-departmental planning meetings
o   Assist with creation of game day event guides, maps and documentation 
o   Assist with coordination of external game day vendors – security, parking, electricians, medical staff etc.
o   Coordinate with the Operations Crew for set up and tear down on game day
o   Assist with equipment inventory and maintenance of the on-site storage space 
o   Assist with coordinating game day seasonal staff schedules
o   Assist with coordinating the game day credential process 
o   Assist with planning and execution of all pre/post-game events
o   Assist with execution of game day promotions and activities on/off the field
o   Assist with operational execution of all game day fan experiences 
o   Participate in any other game day related tasks as requested by supervisor
·      Assist with planning and execution of Red Stars non-game day events and activities including grassroots marketing and community events, ticket sales focused events, sponsorship events etc:
o   Participate in reviewing event requests and coordinating event logistics
o   Participate in cross-departmental planning meetings to ensure all event logistics are prepared
o   Participate in maintaining a company wide events calendar
o   Assist with creation of necessary documentation for events
o   Prepare requested equipment and items for events 
o   Assist with maintaining accurate event equipment inventory
o   Attend events if schedule permits
·      Participate in brainstorming and planning of theme games and special events
·      Assist with additional operational tasks contributing to management of the Red Stars office:
o   Inventory Management
o   Ordering supplies and items as requested
o   Mainintainning a booking system for conference rooms etc
 
Criteria & Qualifications:
·      Students should be working towards a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in sports management, recreation or event planning. It is preferable that candidates are able to receive academic credit from their institution.
·      Creative and out of the box solution seeker.
·      Goal-oriented, self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced and time sensitive environment with attention to detail.
·      Demonstrated experience with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
·      Exceptional organizational and communication skills and adhere to the highest ethical standards
·      Able to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, within a team atmosphere
·      Passionate about soccer & sports

This internship is available on a full time or part time basis and receives a monthly stipend. Students should ideally be able to earn academic credit. Interns will report to the Operations Manager and the role will be in a hybrid setting but successful candidates will be expected to attend all Red Star's home games and select events.
