The Assistant Coach for the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) shall be responsible for the activities that the Head Coach assign and determine. Such responsibilities may include but not be limited to:

Job Responsibilities:

Understand and comply with all rules and guidelines set forth by the NWSL and any other leagues or competitions in which the Red Stars compete.
Provide a framework for athletes to perform their potential by teaching and developing skill levels and game strategies for all team members during practice sessions in preparation for their use during competition while utilizing proper judgment in the instruction and expectations while operating with the highest possible safety standards observed.
Teach and set expectations of appropriate team conduct during competition, travel, practice and NWSL events, and at any other times when the team is representing the NWSL.
Help to develop teams which are competitive within the league and internationally by maximizing the athletes’ talents while also teaching and promoting professionalism.
Create an environment through instruction and modeling for athletes to observe and learn integrity, camaraderie, and respect in order to provide a positive environment for all athletes.
Foster Chicago and community interest in the team.
Articulate and contribute to the goals of the NWSL and the team.
Act as a professional and positive representative of the Chicago Red Stars.
Oversee, plan, organize and manage all in-season and out-or-season practices and competitions.
Oversee conduct and discipline of the team.
Create an environment attractive to the best players globally.
Select, supervise, teach, and evaluate all assistant coach staff including full-time, part-time, assistants, and volunteer coaches.
Perform public relations and promotional activities for the promotion of the sport, department, and the team.
Must be familiar with editing game film and analytics.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

Required to be available five (5) days a week plus weekends
Working hours will be approximately 30 to 40 hours per week, over a nine-month period (February – October)

Must have a minimum of “B” License

Special Conditions:

This position is considered exempt from minimum wage and overtime pay requirements. The Club reserves the right to prospectively revise or change job duties and responsibilities as the need arises, and without advance notice.
