This person will work as part of the team’s coaching staff to ensure that players receive regular technical coaching sessions as individuals, units, and as part of the wider whole team training. The technical sessions should be conducted to improve players' specific skill sets, always working within the tactical framework set out by the Head Coach and within the physical performance parameters defined by the Sports Science and Performance staff.

This role will provide a crucial resource for the players to receive specific technical sessions to improve their individual and collective abilities, thereby helping Angel City FC to achieve its wider goals of having a high performing group of athletes on the field with the technical mastery to execute their individual roles to the required level for the team’s playing style.

Once here you will:

Work with the Head Coach, Performance Director & Assistant Head Coach as well as the Sports Science, Football Conditioning staff and medical teams to conduct daily training sessions with the overall aim of improving the players’ technical proficiency in line with the tactical methodology and physical programming
Conduct on-field sessions as part of the team training and with units of players as well as individuals and assist the Head Coach on match days with in-game analysis of technical and tactical trends of our players as well as the opposition
Work with the Head of Sports Science and Head of Football Conditioning to be mindful of physical loading and adapt training sessions accordingly, based on the available information
Work with the Head Coach & Assistant Head Coach to provide technical and tactical input across training sessions and on match days to better-inform decision making in relation to player progress and development as well as specific areas of strength/areas for improvement in our own team and in the opposition
Work with the analysis department, particularly opposition analysis, to identify and communicate areas to exploit and technical deficiencies in opposition teams assisting with the overall strategy in-game preparation
To develop Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for players, supporting their technical development at both club and National Team level – in conjunction with National Teams & Federation staff as well as wider aims and objectives of the club’s multidisciplinary team (MDT)
Have a focus on emerging talent and talent ID, including but not limited to College scouting and preparation for the College draft (in coordination with the Sporting Director, Head Coach, Performance Director and Head of Scouting & Analytics), making recommendations, compiling scouting reports and creating succession planning databases
Provide technical reports to Sporting Director, Head Coach, Performance Director, match analysis staff
Ensure ACFC compliance with all FIFA & NWSL league guidelines in relation to the role’s specific domain
Manage team gear and equipment ordering & inventory with the equipment manager and operations staff to ensure you have sufficient resources to perform the role each season
Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in relation to the performance of the role, including but not limited to current technical reports across worldwide leagues and major tournaments – communicate findings with staff

We are particularly interested in candidates that have demonstrated fluency in the following areas:

You have experience of working in a professional or high-performance setting within soccer, ideally with a background as a player at the professional and National Team level
You have an understanding of the NWSL, women’s soccer, and working with female athletes
You can lead soccer-specific training sessions that combine technical and tactical outcomes related to the development of the players
You have an understanding of monitoring player loading and can use this to inform your session planning

Application requirements:

You should have 3+ years of experience in elite soccer environments in a playing and/or coaching capacity
You have worked with elite soccer players in a professional environment
You work well within a collaborative, team-driven, and goal-based environment
Excellent communication, collaboration, facilitation, and team leadership as well as a mastery of both English and Spanish (other languages also of huge benefit)
Highly organized and detailed oriented
