Position Summary
The Specialist, Corporate Partnerships position will serve a pivotal role in creating an efficient and consistent workflow across the department.  Hybrid in nature, this position will have multiple duties including account management, new business material development and inventory management of the club’s multi-media assets. The Specialist will assist the Corporate Partnerships in driving revenue while creating innovative solutions for next-generation Sporting Club partners. 

The position is to be a key contributor to the Corporate Partnerships team while ensuring all work is consistent with the Sporting KC brand purpose: “We create memories through personalized experiences with our Club.”

Essential Functions
  • Effectively and strategically enhance Sporting Kansas City’s corporate partner base.
  • Assist in revenue generation across the Sporting Club portfolio with primary focus on Sporting Kansas City, the region’s premier Major League Soccer professional sports franchise.
  • Develop, shape and craft sales presentations, including 360 integration of platforms.
  • Research targeted category information while working with internal analytics team to decode opportunities.
  • Work in conjunction with Business Intelligence team to manage departmental research resources and amplify CRM
  • Manage project timelines and processes for multiple sellers on both the new business and renewal/upsell business needs.
  • Account manage selected strategic corporate partners as assigned.
  • Manage local media assets including commercial inventory and in-show added value for television and radio partners.  
  • Manage, lead and coordinate activation and/or partner platform(s) as assigned and with creating process, action and success.
  • Maintain an up-to-date status report of all proposals, from receipt to execution.
  • Interface with prospects and current partners (as applicable) through introductory conversations and proposal presentations to identify synergies and provide strategic solutions between Sporting Club and partner.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to become a source of best practices.
  • Help transform the standard sponsorship approach into a multi-platform solution for partners.
  • Network with local, regional, and national organizations to create authentic and mutual beneficial corporate partnerships.
  • Build relationships with prospects’ gatekeepers and key company decision-makers, as well as internally with each Sporting Club group.
  • Compile, report, enter, collect, forecast, and track accurate account elements, billing fulfillment and contract information, as well as reports pertaining to proposals, contracts, budgets and other account details into KORE/Salesforce and Trak.
  • Prepare documents as needed, including expense reports, account budgets, memos, letters, contracts, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Support Sporting Kansas City’s mission, vision and values of excellence, competence, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Match Day Responsibilities
  • Full-time associates act as representatives of Sporting Kansas City at all home matches, engaging with guests and working to create Magic Moments for all fans.
  • Meet with clients and host partner representatives.
  • Conduct pre-game walk thru of the suites, concourse and club spaces to ensure activation.
  • Assist with oversight of suite levels at Children’s Mercy Park.
  • Assist with gameday partner promotions and onsite activations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sports Management, Marketing or other related field required.
  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of professional sales/account management experience, preferably in the sports industry or agency setting.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, Google Slides, Adobe, KORE/Salesforce, Trak, and SportsDigita.
  • Capacity to adapt to the unique and vibrant Kansas City market.
  • Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write in the English language to effectively engage with fans, clients, business partners, and other Sporting Kansas City Associates.
