Facility Operations/Event Staff: Facility/Venue Management
The Sporting Fields + Athletics Facility and Operations Specialist will assist Operations Coordinators in orchestrating day to day logistics at each satellite Sporting Kansas City sports venue, in addition to other Sporting KC properties. This individual will help maintain and operate our world-class facilities and all their assets. This includes training centers, facility utilities, and fields.

This position is typically 15-30 hours per week. Prior operations/facilities experience is not required.

Essential Functions
  • Ensure facility is operating according to the mission, vision and values of Sporting KC.
  • Act as an additional point of contact for Sporting Fields + Athletics special events (National/Regional Events, Lacrosse, Rugby, Frisbee and Soccer Tournaments/Leagues,). 
  • Work with the USL Sporting Kansas City II (Minor League Soccer Team) and Sporting KC Developmental Academy teams for any facility needs or requests. 
  • Assist in coordinating practice, meetings, and soccer operations between all departments.
  • Responsible for spearheading facility set up, breakdown, and maintenance.
  • Plan, create, and execute special projects with Operations Coordinator and Department Manager.
  • Prepare facilities for internal and external rentals.
  • Perform all operational needs of Sporting Fields + Athletics facilities. This could include complex maintenance, equipment repair, trash and recycling, opening and closing of gates and ordering and restocking of supplies.
  • Be the liaison to third-party vendors and coordinate any work that needs to be completed on-site. 
  • Be present at department meetings to discuss Sports/Facility Operation workplace trends, attend trainings, and strategize for future SF+A functions.
  • When needed, help at other Sporting Kansas City properties.
  • Represent Sporting KC in a professional manner at all times.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Skills and Experience
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Ability and experience using a variety of tools and procedures to complete maintenance projects.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar.
