THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Brand Planning & Insights team is tasked with making Sounders FC’s marketing as smart and efficient as possible. The Marketing Program Manager will work within the team to manage several key programs including Retail, Go-to-Market planning, Email Marketing, and Season Membership support. You will leverage project management software to manage projects across multiple departments. Within the Marketing team, you’ll take on a leadership role and own several Sounders programs from ideation to execution. This role will work closely with the Design, Video, Live Experiences, and Channel functions acting as the glue that brings people and projects together.

The candidate should feel comfortable working with multiple stakeholders at different levels, managing several deliverables and appropriately prioritizing work based on business impact. This role will collaborate closely with Business Operations, Ticket Sales & Service, Social Impact and Corporate Partnership teams to deliver first-class fan experiences across all of our platforms. 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Management:
  • Align with Ticket Sales team to lead and coordinate on-sale strategies and work with Marketing & Sales Coordinator to build campaigns and track results.
  • Partner with Social Impact team to strategize and implement social justice campaigns involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Build Go-to-Market plans incorporating multiple marketing touchpoints from email marketing, retargeting, and multitouch customer journeys.
  • Manage multiple marketing and communications projects at varying stages in their lifecycle, leading the team to implement brand plans including building out cross-functional timelines. 
  • Build project processes to deliver quality work while optimizing time and resources.
  • Assist marketing team in setting up and executing campaigns and applying best practices for measuring results according to organization KPIs
  • Execute Retail program needs from communication with MLS properties and local Pro Shop orders and approvals.
  • Lead Sounders FC advertising and media buys, including TV, radio, OTT, billboards and more. Manage budgets, vendors and creative delivery.
  • Own and manage internal project management platform, Wrike. Work closely with the Wrike Account Manager to learn latest updates and become the go-to on the Marketing team for troubleshooting and execution. 

Recapping, Data and Insights: 
  • Lead recaps and reporting for various campaigns. Measure ROI and report back to the team. Utilize platforms such as Tableau, Google Analytics and Salesforce to monitor and adjust campaigns as needed.
  • Define, produce and present deliverables including dashboards, presentations and recurring reports that identify opportunities to shape consumer experiences and that inform and inspire internal stakeholders to action.
  • Collect and analyze data that drive insights to understand and shape consumer experiences, lifetime value, segmentation, digital marketing and other business outcomes.
  • Shape the way Sounders FC collects and interprets data into meaningful customer segments and journeys.
 
Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Directly manage a Marketing and Sales Coordinator, encouraging their career growth and development, providing feedback and coaching, and performing other managerial duties such as one-on-ones and performance reviews.
  • Communicate and collaborate across the organization and within marketing functions to proactively identify pain points and engineer sustainable solutions and processes.
  • Collaborate and work alongside the Business Intelligence team to build journeys, analyze data and refine touchpoints.
  • Other duties may be assigned.  
 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • 5+ years in marketing field, preferably as a Manager-level. 
  • Background in program management.
  • Proven experience executing go-to-market campaigns from ideation to completion.
  • Experience with digital survey tools.
  • Proficiency in campaign planning, digital product and experience creation and customer journeys.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Passionate about soccer and working in sports.
  • Strong task management capabilities to manage multiple tracks of work and requirements.
  • Proven experience building positive working relationships and working in cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of best practices & current trends in digital marketing communication and customer journeys.
  •  Experience with digital survey tools.
  • Comfortable in a leadership role amongst peers.
  • Ability to take on other duties as assigned.
  • Fundamental knowledge of soccer, Sounders FC, and Major League Soccer.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strives for continuous improvement.
  • Strategic problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills.
  • Marketing experience in the sports and/or entertainment industry strongly preferred.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This position is remote for 2021, except for mandatory participation in all Sounders FC events and matchdays in accordance with applicable COVID-19 health policies. 
  • Some evening and weekend work will be required, including home and away matches. 
  • Employee must be able to facilitate own local travel. 
  • Due to the nature of this role’s event and matchday work, employee must live within the greater Seattle area.
