Communications/Community Relations: Community Relations
JOB TITLE: Manager, Community Relations 
SUPERVISOR: Director, Community Relations 
DESCRIPTION: 
The Manager, Community Relations will report to the Director, Community Relations and assist in the development and execution of all Community Relations responsibilities.  These responsibilities fall within multiple categories, including but not limited to:
  • Player and Talent Relations 
    • Organize paid and charitable player appearances
    • Manage and organize payments and other administrative responsibilities
  • Marketing & Communications Support
    • Help with administration and support for operations, sales & service, and sponsorship integrations with Community Projects and services.
  • Cross-Departmental support (Sales/Service, Operations, Sponsorship Integration) 
    • Help with administration and support for operations, sales & service, and sponsorship integrations with Community Projects and services.
  • Community Relations Programming 
    • Assist, plan, and executive responsibilities related to current Community Relations programs like: Pledge 74, Get EQ Fit, Sponsor related programs, Donations and Kicks for Kids, Player related philanthropy, MLSWorks Programming, Gameday programs and Projects and more
  • Quakes Foundation 
    • Support Quakes Foundation through management of all fundraising initiatives
    • Develop new fundraising initiative
    • Maintain and enhance relations with donors and Foundation Board members
  • General Administrative and community engagement tasks
    • Book keeping, inventory, grant management

Skills and Requirements
  • 1-2 years experience in the professional sports industry and/or fundraising
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Soccer knowledge preferred
  • Candidate should have excellent written and verbal skills
  • Self-motivated team player with good work ethic and desire to learn
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience of San Jose (and surrounding) Communities
  • Experience with multiculturalism and application of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion principles
  • Experience with common languages (and cultures) of the area preferred (Spanish, Vietnamese, Hindi, Mandarin/Cantonese, Korean, Arabic etc.)
