Internship: Internship
We are seeking a dynamic and talented Marketing Intern to join our team who will report to the Philadelphia Union Youth Director of Operations. This internship is designed to expose the individual to all aspects of marketing, digital graphics, social media, including the promotion and enhancement of the Union Youth. 

Internships with Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences and exposure to all facets of a professional soccer team’s front office.  Interns may be occasionally asked to work nights and weekends.

Duties & Responsibilities:  
  • Need to have an obsession for social media and how it can impact the growth for Philadelphia Union Youth. 
  • Work with social media team to coordinate elements that are needed for upcoming posts (graphics/ images/links). 
  • Develops out strategic plans that will drive engagements, leads, and sales for our social platform.
  • Drive relationships with social influencers to share our message that results in increased traffic to that results in increased leads and sales. 
  • Update posting schedule: 
    • Include caption copy and hashtags for all social media posts (optimize for SEO when applicable) 
    • Gather appropriate links needed for each post 
    • Work with director of operations on tracking efforts 
    • Develop and Design Digital Graphics specific to Union Youth Programming
    • Keep all files organized and up to date on graphics server. 
    • Research trends, timely content, and audiences. 
    • Deliver finished posts to supervisor for review and scheduling. 
  • Take charge of day-to-day posts: 
    • Live videos 
    • Instagram stories 
    • Trending posts 
    • Behind the scenes of content creation from brainstorming to photo/video shoots 
    • Branding culture opportunities 
  • Have a solid understanding of how all social media channels are currently run and present ideas to increase engagement. 
  • Propose new ideas and concepts. 
  • Analysis of Marketing efforts and traffic driven to our sites. 
  • Other marketing duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications: 
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in marketing, business administration, sports management, digital graphic design, or related field. 
  • Prior experience in marketing (athletics or business), digital graphic design, game management or promotions. 
  • Must possess excellent writing, editing, typing and excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills. 
  • Must thrive in a teamwork environment. 
  • Familiar with use of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.). 
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage time effectively. 
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends on a flexible schedule. 
  • Ability to effectively work with little supervision. 
  • Experience using design programs such as Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator. 
  • Quick decision making and problem-solving skills along with a positive attitude and outgoing personality. 
  • Experienced and comfortable in customer service, knowing that the fan always comes first. 
  • Knowledge on Google Analytics. 
  • Prior marketing experience working directly with coaches/teams/athletic departments and producing live sporting events preferred.

If selected for an internship with the Philadelphia Union the intern will be required to provide the following clearances:
  • PA Child Abuse History clearance
  • PA State Police Criminal Records Check
  • An FBI Criminal Background Check if you have not been a continuous resident of Pennsylvania for 10 years.   If you have been a continuous resident of PA for the last 10 years, you may affirm in writing that you have no other convictions that would disqualify employment.
