ABOUT OUR COMPANY:
Philadelphia was awarded the 16th Major League Soccer franchise in February, 2008 and the team was officially announced as the Philadelphia Union in May, 2009.  Owned and operated by Keystone Sports and Entertainment LLC (“KSE”), the group launched the Philadelphia Union's inaugural season in 2010 and opened Talen Energy Stadium in June, 2010.  Talen Energy Stadium is an 18,500 seat, world-class soccer specific stadium that sits beautifully along the Delaware River at the base of the Commodore Barry Bridge and is only 15 miles from downtown Philadelphia.

ABOUT THIS ROLE:
We are seeking a dynamic and talented Multicultural & Events Marketing Coordinator to join our team. The primary role of this candidate will be to organize and execute the Union’s grassroots marketing appearances, manage the Union’s Hispanic social media presence, conduct community outreach to multicultural and Hispanic markets, actively find new events and opportunities for the Union brand to engage with, and manage relationships within the tri-state area. This candidate is extremely knowledgeable about the event landscape in Philadelphia and is well connected.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manages and executes the Union’s grassroots marketing appearances including city events, festivals, Hispanic and multicultural events, and more
  • Proposes, plans, and executes Multicultural/Hispanic marketing programs, promotions, community relations activations, and events
  • Manages a group of Event Operations interns each semester and adequately staffs owned events
  • Launches and manages the content creation for the Union’s Hispanic Twitter account
  • Leads outreach efforts to multicultural communities, businesses, community nonprofit groups, and local leaders
  • Works closely with the Grassroots Marketing Coordinator to schedule mascot appearances at appropriate owned events
  • Actively distributes collateral and promotional materials to local businesses and community groups
  • Plans multicultural street team activities with the marketing and event operations interns
  • Copywrites and translates marketing materials
  • Assists the Marketing Manager with planning of other downtown and large scale activations
 Preferred:
  • Strong interest in soccer
  • Extensive knowledge of events happening throughout the Tri-State area
  • Strong network in the Philadelphia area
  • Knowledge of multicultural/Hispanic media outlets in the Tri-State area
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing, Sports Communications, or Business
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as independently with a no job too small attitude
  • Demonstrate sound organizational, coordinating and personal interface skills
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication and attention to detail
  • Must be available and flexible with evening hours, weekends/holidays work as needed
  • Experience in a brand ambassador role, street team role, or similar
  • Experience with the Hispanic Market is a must
  • Must be able to travel within the tri-state area and have reliable means of transportation

If selected for employment with the Philadelphia Union the candidate will be required to provide the following clearances:
  • PA Child Abuse History clearance
  • PA State Police Criminal Records Check
  • An FBI Criminal Background Check
