Title: Public Address Announcer
Department: Marketing
Reports to: Marketing & Fan Engagement Manager
Position Summary:The Public Address Announcer is the main voice for the Orlando City Soccer Club while in stadium and works closely with the marketing department to help create a unique and entertaining experience for fans and supporters during home matches. The Public Address Announcer is responsible for all announcements during home matches, including starting line ups, in-game updates, sponsor messaging, presentations and other needs as assigned. We seek someone with a strong grasp of our culture and a deep understanding of the game of soccer. This is a part-time role, as the Public Address Announcer will be required to work game days for Orlando City and Orlando Pride, and other appearances as requested.
  • Strong vocal talent.
  • A unique and definitive personality.
  • Excellent knowledge of soccer, including rules, positions, customs, MLS rosters, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task and make timely adjustments in a stressful environment.
  • Comfortable announcing to crowds exceeding 25,000 people.
  • Comfortable announcing complex names from a variety of ethnic backgrounds.
  • Ability to attend all home matches, arriving several hours before kickoff, and attend appropriate pre-game meetings.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an announcer in professional or major collegiate sports.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) fluency a plus.
  • Able to work non-traditional hours including, nights, weekends and holidays, in non-traditional settings, within a team atmosphere.
Compensation:This is a part-time role. The Public Address Announcer will be paid per game/appearance with a rate determined as commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications.

  • Minimum of 3 references specifically related to the applications ability to perform the required duties.
  • An MP3 of applicant’s voice performing in a similar capacity for at least 3 minutes (or link to web-based audio platform).
Interviews and auditions will be scheduled accordingly with selected candidates. The selected candidate will be expected to fill the position of Public Address Announcer beginning February 2020.
About Orlando City SC:
Orlando City SC joined Major League Soccer (MLS) as the league's 21st franchise in November 2013, becoming the first MLS team in the Southeast. The Lions began league play in March 2015, and in 2017, moved into its privately-owned downtown soccer stadium. In 2019, Orlando City SC will launch OCB in the newly-formed USL League One to bridge the gap between its successful youth development academy and the First Team.
