Background: After winning three USL-Pro regular season championships and two postseason titles over a four-year span, Orlando City SC quickly set the standard for professional soccer clubs both on and off the field and was awarded the 21st Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise on Nov. 19, 2013. The Lions played their first two seasons in MLS at the Orlando Citrus Bowl, where they held the second-highest average attendance in MLS. In 2016, the Club launched Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and Orlando City B in the United Soccer League (USL).
In March 2017, Orlando City SC unveiled its brand new, privately financed downtown stadium. With a capacity of 25,500 fans, Orlando City Stadium creates the most exciting game-day experience for fans in the country.
Position Summary: Orlando City SC is looking for a creative and driven Graphics Design Intern. This person will work under the direction of the Graphic Design team, and will have the opportunity to learn how to design and produce marketing collateral for the Club. Concluding this internship this person will know how to design, prepare and present marketing collateral, within the marketing department for a professional sports team. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO RECEIVE ACADEMIC CREDIT FOR THIS INTERNSHIP.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with design of ticket collateral (single tickets, season tickets, season ticket holder books).
  • Work with design team on producing advertising material (print, out-of-home, etc.).
  • Assist with creation of interactive design (website design, Facebook images/tab design, etc.) for Orlando City, Orlando Pride, OCB and youth properties.
  • Assist with corporate sales fulfillment (when necessary) and collateral.
  • Provide input and assistance with overall look of branded signage at the stadium (JumboTron, LEDs, banners, etc.).
  • Support design team with presentations, collateral and photo editing.
  • Assist with minimum of 2-3 office days per week, or as needed.
  • Applicants should be working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree with an emphasis in graphic design, marketing, or related field. Candidates receiving credit for participating in our internship program are preferred.
  • Interested in pursuing a career in graphic design, marketing, etc.
  • Basic understanding of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Exceptional reliability, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail is a must.
  • Strong knowledge of a wide variety of graphic design applications platforms.
  • Able to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, within a team atmosphere.
  • A sense of humor is a must. Prepare to tell us a good joke in your interview.
