JOB TITLE:  City Select Coordinator
REPORTS TO:  Technical Director 
LOCATION:  Orangeburg, NY & St. John’s University
DATE:  January 1, 2020

The City Select Coordinator will have split responsibilities over multiple disciplines within the Academy structure. These include:
1)  Scouting zone 1 age players
2)  Overseeing and managing the City Select League as run by NYCFC 
3)   Assist in coaching City Select Programs and selected Academy training sessions
The position will work closely with the Academy Director, Director of Coaching and Scouting Manager to ensure desired program is running efficiently.

  • Attend selected City Select League games;
  • Scouting and identify at the U9, U10 and U11 age group;
  • Build/maintain relationships with local clubs at the younger age groups;
  • City Select League quality control 
    • Ensure rules and regulations are being monitored and followed on a week-to-week basis; 
    • Report back issues related to on-field issues (set-up, surface condition, rule application); 
  • City Select Coaching responsibilities
    • Attend and assist run the coaching of City Select programming in conjunction with the Scouting Manager
  • Assist in the training sessions of select U12 Academy sessions 
    • Assist with planning, supervising and coordinating the training sessions and games;
  • Create and maintain healthy relationships with youth affiliates and local youth program coaches;
  • Supporting Talent ID Programs and various Youth Program initiatives;
  • Representing New York City FC in all manners, including the participation in promotional and public related events depending on availability

  • Youth Soccer Coaching experience required;
  • US Soccer License required;
  • Familiarity with NYC soccer market;
  • Possess strong relationships with local clubs;
  • Strong communicative and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work nights and weekends;
  • Ability to attend/scout matches on the weekend
