The New York Red Bulls are one of 23 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS) in 2018. They are one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, having competed in the league since its founding in 1996.   The club plays home matches at Red Bull Arena (RBA) in Harrison, New Jersey. RBA, a state-of-the-art 25,000-seat stadium, is widely regarded as the top soccer-specific stadium in North America. The club is owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull GmbH for which the team is named. The Red Bulls have made the MLS Cup Playoffs in eight straight seasons, and in 14 of the last 15 years. New York won the MLS Supporters’ Shield in 2013 and 2015, and has finished atop the Eastern Conference in three of the last five years. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams, which annually rank amongst the best U.S. Soccer Development Academy programs in the nation.


The New York Red Bulls seeks an intern to assist the Membership Sales department for the summer of 2018. 

The primary responsibilities will include: 
 -              Assisting the department with research and benchmarking various teams regarding sales collateral,       pricing, benefits, seating charts, maps, etc.
 -              Learning all aspects of the sales process with the ticket and premium sales department
 -              Responsible for specific sales-driven projects
 -              Assisting with ticket mailings and promotions
 -              Other special projects and administrative duties, as assigned
 -              Assigned game night responsibilities 



o    Learn how to generate qualified premium/membership sales leads through research

o    Learn how to access and use Microsoft KORE CRM system

o    Learn how to analyze and research market trends pertaining to premium/membership packages

o    Learn how a sales department operates and how to effectively sell a premium/membership packages

o    Learn how to sell ticket plans for a professional sports team

o    Learn how to prospect and contact businesses 

The ideal candidate must have great communication skills, be professional and be able to multi-task. Applicant must have proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Pursuit of Sport Management, Marketing or related degree is preferred. This is a non-paid internship and requires the individual to receive academic credit. The candidate should be, but not limited to, a Junior, Senior or graduate level student. This internship requires a commitment to assist staff during some New York Red Bulls matches and be able to be in the office 15-20 hours a week.

Due to the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company.
