About the New York Red Bulls
The New York Red Bulls are one of 27 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS). RBNY, one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, have competed in the league since its founding in 1996. The Red Bulls play home matches at Red Bull Arena (RBA) in Harrison, New Jersey. The three-time MLS Supporters' Shield Winners are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull for which the team is named. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.

Purpose of this Job
As Head of Scouting for RBNY you will oversee a young department to support the future success of our teams through the identification and recruitment of players for today and tomorrow. The Club is focused on performance and wants to create a roster with the ability to challenge for MLS Cup year on year. This strategy will be sustained by clear processes that focus on the development of young players with the potential to achieve and maintain success. You will play an active role in direction of travel for talent identification & recruitment within the wider group through regular consultation with RBSI (Red Bull Soccer International) and Heads of Scouting from our other Clubs.

What you'll do
  • You will report to our Head of Sport.
  • Plan and execute the growth of the scouting department, accounting for short, medium & long term strategy.
  • Lead and support the scouting strategy throughout all age groups - Academy, RBII, & MLS.
  • Coach, nurture and develop all employees within the scouting department.
  • Remain connected with all RB (Red Bull) Global counterparts, creating transparency and alignment in our processes.
  • Develop and maintain an RB specific scouting system which incorporates the use of data and video.

Your areas of expertise that matter most for this role
  • 5 years' experience in an elite sports setting.
  • Evidence of player recruitment from youth and/or senior level.
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team in a professional sporting environment.
  • An understanding of working in the soccer environment.
  • Experience of developing and implementing innovative ideas and putting them into practice.
