COMPANY INFORMATION
The New York Red Bulls are one of 24 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS). RBNY, one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, have competed in the league since its founding in 1996. The Red Bulls play home matches at Red Bull Arena (RBA) in Harrison, New Jersey. RBA, a state-of-the-art 25,000-seat stadium, is widely regarded as the top soccer-specific stadium in North America. The club is owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull for which the team is named. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams. 

POSITION PURPOSE
The Director, Ticket Sales plays a significant role in the growth of the New York Red Bulls as a leading team in the MLS.  This person will be responsible for executing on the action plans set forth by the leadership team in order to achieve ticket sales goals in the Membership & Group sales categories.  This person will also be a key contributor to the development of the Ticket Sales team.

ESSENTIAL MANAGER FUNCTIONS
  • Execute overall membership, partials, and group sales marketing and sales plan to increase revenue Collaborate with Sr. Director, Sales & Service and Director, Product Management to innovate and develop new creative ticket packages to increase revenue 
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train and regularly conduct performance reviews for membership and group sales teams
  • Maintain and track expenses 
  • Research, create and implement strategies to drive membership and group sales  
  • In cooperation with the CRM team, manage day to day lead generation/nurturing 
  • Hold weekly meetings to communicate sales updates and monitor progress toward sales goals
  • Develop and administer regular sales training for staff to increase skill sets
  • In conjunction with Sr. Director, Sales & Service develop and enhance annual up-sell/referral campaigns for package customers 
  • Organize and maintain weekly sales report updates for Senior Management, sales staff and central accounting office

ESSENTIAL SALES FUNCTIONS
  • Masterful knowledge of selling in the New York/New Jersey Metropolitan area
  • Demonstrated managerial skills with the ability to lead and motivate a sales team
  • Ability, if needed, to sell a full menu of New York Red Bulls ticket plans including but not limited to Skyboxes, Full Season Tickets, Partial Plans and Groups
  • Meet or exceed established expectations for outbound prospecting calls and meetings
  • Meet or exceed established sales quotas on weekly, monthly, and yearly basis

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that s/he can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.



  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing, Sales or Business related field 
  • Must have at least five years’ experience in selling experience and at least three years experience in managing a sales staff for another professional sports team 
  • Must have at least three to five years’ experience in managing a ticket sales staff for another professional sports team. Ability to manage and motivate sales staff to achieve goals
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Well organized and self-motivated
  • Positive attitude, collaborative and team oriented
  • Excellent knowledge of ticketing software (Archtics)
  • Excellent knowledge of PC systems including Word, Excel and database related packages
