The New York Red Bulls are one of 24 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS). RBNY, one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, have competed in the league since its founding in 1996. The Red Bulls play home matches at Red Bull Arena (RBA) in Harrison, New Jersey. RBA, a state-of-the-art 25,000-seat stadium, is widely regarded as the top soccer-specific stadium in North America. The club is owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull for which the team is named. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.

The New York Red Bulls are searching for a bilingual content creator to help create English and Spanish language content for and the New York Red Bulls social media channels, as well as Red Bull Arena and Red Bull Academy social media channels.

This person will be responsible for managing the content strategy, daily content creation and back-end reporting and analytics. The Content Manager will work directly with RBNY players (first team and USL) to help provide them with content for their social media channels. The Content Manager will also assist the internal Communications team facilitating interviews with Spanish-speaking players and handling translations as needed.

  • Manage content for New York Red Bulls, Red Bull Arena, Red Bull Academy and Red Bull Youth Programs.
  • Day-to-day creation and execution of content across digital and social platforms.
  • Work with MLS Digital and internal and external stakeholders to execute content plans to support revenue growth.
  • Create and execute content plans to drive fan growth and engagement.
The position will manage department interns.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Required to perform the job)
  • Create content (English & Spanish) for and RBNY social media platforms, as well as Red Bull Arena and Red Bull Academy social media platforms.
  • Develop and write Spanish-language campaigns with Digital and Creative teams.
  • Conduct interviews and translate for Red Bulls players following practices and after games. 
  • Transcribe and translate content in English and Spanish, for written and video content.
  • Write articles and create social posts in both languages, as needed. 
  • Manage first team social media accounts.
  • Assist with management of the New York Red Bulls mobile app.
  • Develop and execute content plans for Red Bull Arena social channels, in English and Spanish.
  • Assist in the production of videos for New York Red Bulls channels (assist with interviews with Spanish speaking players, provide assistance with translations and subtitles).
  • Work with New York Red Bulls Communications team to find and develop Spanish-speaking media opportunities for players and staff. Assist with media opportunities for Spanish-speaking players. Facilitate interviews, translate as needed.
  • Work directly with players (first team and USL) to develop social media strategies as well as provide text, photos and videos as needed.
  • Develop and implement Influencer strategy to bring key people out to matches, share experience on social channels.
  • Report on analytics for first team, USL, academy and other social channels on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Work closely with Marketing team on advertising campaigns and assist with Spanish-language campaigns (creative and execution, as needed).
  • Work with Partnership Marketing teams to execute agreements and activate RBNY sponsors on digital/social platforms.
  • Other tasks/duties as assigned.

 The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • This individual must speak and write English and Spanish fluently. 
  • Previous experience with translation work in a sports setting is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience with content creation in a sports setting is preferred. 
  • Deep understanding of existing and emerging social media platforms.
  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML. 
  • Excellent written and communication skills (English & Spanish) both internal and external; ability to interface with employees at all levels within the organization; openness to collaboration.
  • Ability to plan and execute original, digital content concepts based on MLS and organizational calendar of events, milestones, and marketing initiatives.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment including instant decision-making. 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Minimum of three years of digital marketing experience (experience in the sports industry a plus).
